The Annhole Florida voting scandal
Ann Coulter Pulls Strings To Weasel Out Of Voter Fraud Charges

Apparently, the legal process that most of America abides by is not good enough for voter-fraud suspect Ann Coulter. Rather than allow the “rule of law” to take its course in the investigation into her false voter registration in Palm Beach County, an FBI agent has interceded on her behalf to have the charges dropped. Why would Special Agent Jim Fitzgerald, an FBI profiler who pursued the Unabomber and is based in Virginia, involve himself in a Palm Beach County election issue? The FBI wants to know, too, and has begun an internal investigation.

The answer seems to be, as Brad Blog reports, that Fitzgerald is an old boyfriend of Coulter’s. Meanwhile, as the Bush Administration (and FOX News) have made the issue of voter fraud such a priority, it’s curious, to say the least, that an FBI agent would step in to stop a bona fide investigation, especially where the evidence is so damning. For more information and to view a copy of Coulter’s false registration (and sworn statement attesting to its veracity), check out Brad Blog’s detailed reporting. ~snip~

FBI profiler reportedly helps Ann Coulter

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., May 11: ~snip~ After moving to Palm Beach, Coulter allegedly gave her real estate agent's address as her home when she registered to vote, which put her in the wrong precinct. Her lawyer, Marcos Jiminez of Miami, said she got erroneous advice from another lawyer.
The case was dropped without interviewing Coulter or her real estate agent.

"This doesn't bode well in terms of the public's impression that celebrities receive preferential treatment," Arthur Anderson, the county supervisor of elections, told the Post. "I'm curious about how anyone can justify the FBI's intrusion." ~snip~

FBI agent steps into Coulter voting case

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has been cleared of allegations that she falsified her Palm Beach County voter's registration and voted illegally — this, after a high-level FBI agent made unsolicited phone calls to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to vouch for Coulter.

The caller wasn't just any G-man. According to PBSO documents, he was Supervisory Special Agent Jim Fitzgerald, of the FBI Academy's Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Va. — the closest reality gets to the serial-killer catchers on CBS' Criminal Minds. ~snip~

First-year Detective Kristine Villa in December was assigned the job of investigating whether Coulter committed a felony in February 2006, when she cast her ballot in the wrong precinct in a Palm Beach election after registering to an address that wasn't hers.

Villa's report leaves the clear impression that Coulter's attorney, Miami's Marcos Jimenez, stonewalled Villa for five months — at times agreeing to make Coulter available, at others reneging, often not returning calls promptly or claiming not to be able to reach his client. ~snip~

~snip~ The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office closed the case April 12, concluding "there was insufficient probable cause to determine that Ann Coulter willfully or deliberately" violated any laws.

Knowingly voting in the wrong precinct is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. The county elections office had received a complaint in February 2006 that Coulter voted in the wrong precinct during a Palm Beach town council election. ~snip~

The report said the detective was never able to question Coulter. ~snip~

Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson, a Democrat, said he was displeased with the sheriff's office investigation, noting that the detective never informed him of the outcome. ~snip~
