Bearing in mind that she is up against some pretty stiff competition, last month Laura Bush made what was perhaps the most asinine statement about Bush's war:

And believe me, no one suffers more than their president and I do when we watch this.
But apparently Bush didn't want to suffer today and instead:

After all, someone who is truly suffering would, you know, ask someone else for help.

This statement by a reasonably intelligent woman, one who at times has given signs of thinking for herself, is about as rock-bottom as it can get.

Laura, what about those parents whose children, who they brought into the world, fed, burped, clothed, educated, motivated, laughed with, cried with, stayed up all night talking to, hugged, kissed and loved illimitably . . . served and then DIED with their blood essence of life streaming into the unfeeling sand, because YOUR FUCKING HUSBAND WANTED OIL?
