On the one hand, I realize that we need to control the Senate |

and every win can help us sustain a veto, influence the next supreme court nominees - if Bush will get another chance or if - bite my tongue - they win the White House again.
On the other hand, I miss the presence of moderate Republicans like Lincoln Chafee or Susan Colins who is supposedly being targeted..
The Senate is supposed to be a moderating chamber as opposed to the more partisan House. However with the likes of Frist and other rabid Republicans, it turned into a partisan body like the House.
sigh..

... and it needs to be rooted out. Old-school Republicans should see the benefit: being shackled to the ultras has all but wrecked their party. If they don't, it's their loss.
