What VOTE VETS.ORG think of Bush's New "War Czar"
VoteVets reaction to the nomination (by e-mail):

"Those of us who have a rudimentary understanding of the military and Constitution know that there is already a war czar. The position has a different name, though - Commander in Chief, or as the President says, 'the commander guy.' Whatever the name of the position is, this proves the President is throwing in the towel when it comes to directing the military, and is giving up his Constitutional role. The troops are now depending on Lt. Gen. Lute to do something the President wouldn't - listen to commanders who are telling him we need more diplomacy, not escalation. It's now up to Lt. Gen. Lute to undo the President's failed policies in Iraq, and bring a heavy dose of diplomacy in the region, so we can begin to get our troops out of the Iraqi religious civil war."

Also, VoteVets.org's brand new ad released today featuring Gen. Clark with a message specifically addressed to John Warner.

Go and watch, and give recommends so that the Corporate media is forced to continue to talk about the Generals that Bush and most of the Republican congress are obviously not listening to.

1. What happens to Lute when he tells Bush we have to leave Iraq?
Is he fired, or used as a scapegoat?

2. Whatever happens, save me a front row seat.......
I will speculate that Lute will probably have to go and spend time with his family or something. It will be same ol' same ol'! :eyes:

4. Well as usual,
leave it to Bush to re-order the order of things in whatever he does. When it comes to destroying all and any established precendence over our entire history, including the constitution, our stance against torture, choosing elective war and the doctrine of having an exit strategy, the "Ex-Commander Guy" has a knack of making sure it all turns to shit. :eyes:

6. VoteVets will weigh in during this election.
And we will see how America decides to deal with the idea that the military in fact is not solidly behind Junior's foreign policy.
