Brazile on CNN disses Ron Paul, misses chance to hit Giuliani hard on his supposed strength
Didn't you learn anything from all those lunches with Karl Rove? No Dem strategist should mention Giuliani's name without reminding voters of Giuliani's 9/11 failures.

From Salon...

Where was Rudy? He didn't know what to do or where to go because he had put his emergency command center in exactly the wrong place. Against the advice of experts, he had built the emergency command center in the area most likely to be attacked, an area that had already been attacked, the 23rd floor of No. 7 World Trade Center. It was off-limits on the only day it was ever needed.

And this, from Kristen Breitweiser writing in Huffington Post...

Can someone please explain to me why Rudy Giuliani gets to give a victim's impact statement at the Moussaoui penalty phase hearing? Which family member did Guiliani lose in the attacks?

Forgive me, but Giuliani is the person responsible for deciding to locate NYC's emergency command center in the World Trade Center along with a diesel fuel tank (against the advice of certain FDNY officials) before 9/11.

Locating the city's emergency command center in a known al Qaeda target (the towers were struck in 1993 and al Qaeda publicly promised to return to finish the job) was a colossal failure in judgment on his part that cost hundreds of lives on 9/11.

During the attacks, because the command center was rendered inoperable, NYC had no clear chain of command and no physical command structure in place to coordinate the emergency response. Frankly, the whole reason Giuliani was on television all day and available for interviews was because he was scrambling around the streets trying to set up a command post since the one he had designed and located was paralyzed during the attacks.

1. Maybe the Dem establishment is seeing Paul as the greater risk,
knowing that they can always take Giuliani down what with the divorces, RTL flipflopping, etc.

This would correspond to other speculation around here about Paul as the stealth GOP candidate.

2. Centist (DLCERs) always feel compelled
to out Republican the Republicans. Brazille was touting
the Republican Line. They do not want Paul up there
on a stage speaking out of Lockstep with the WH.

The Me Tooers always show up trying to out Republican
the Republicans.

3. Why does Braqzille keep getting invited on TV?
She's a failure as an analyst and crippled Gore's 2000 campaign.
She has no following among progressives and activists. The general public knows little about her.
Give us real leftist commentators, dammit!

6. Because the failed DLC types agree with the GOP/media more than fighting DEMS do.
Edited on Wed May-16-07 06:14 PM by Dr Fate
In fact, the DLC types spent as much time attacking
the people who were 100% correct on Iraq as the GOP/media itself.

I dont even need a leftist- a NON DLC fighting moderate who doesnt let the GOP frame the debate is just fine with me.

I relaize yours was a rhetorical question, but there is your answer. ;)

4. Those conservative, DLC type "Democrats" fail at nearly everything they do.
Edited on Wed May-16-07 06:10 PM by Dr Fate
Except for when they hand the GOP elections on a silver platter, or support Bush's wars and economic positions, or when they are attacking the net-roots for opposing Bush and the war- then they are quite successful.
