"Ready to Run"
Not really a country fan, though I like that song and some of their others...I think it would be a good "stick it in your eye" statement to Georgie though!!!

5. I voted for "City of Blinding Lights" |
|
which, as far as I can tell, doesn't really have lyrics that pertain to running for office, but it's one of my favorite songs.
Although I love the Dixie Chicks, "Ready to Run" is not one of my favorite songs of theirs - although you're right about the kind of statement it would make!

22. Obama used that for his announcement speech |

I don't know that Bono has endorsed a candidate, though.

many candidates have used "Beautiful Day" - I know John Kerry did. U2 performed at the opening of Bill Clinton's presidential library. But I don't think they get to involved in our politics - they aren't American, anyway. Besides, I've heard that candidates don't have to get permission to use an artist's song.

27. LOVED the Sunday, Bloody Sunday |

at the Clinton presidential library inauguration. That was an excellent choice, considering Bush was basically cornered. Not that it had any impact on his decision-making, but I appreciated the choice.
I remember Kerry using Beautiful Day, too. Hillary can probably use what she wants, but I would think she would steer clear of the 'announcement song' for Obama. Since that's probably the most watched speech he's delivered in the campaign, the association is already there. Hillary needs a song that people associate with her alone.
Bill Clinton had THE BEST campaign song ever, with 'Don't Stop'. It's going to be difficult to top that one.

I'm surprised that anyone would include such an embarassing clip of themselves in a campaign video - but it's embarassing in a humanizing way, and shows that she has a very good sense of humor.

but it still made me laugh this time, too. She also makes jokes about not liking her thighs, I've noticed. That all too human stuff can only help.

10. In her autobiogrphy, her sense of humor is one of her most noticable assets. She said the thing she |
|
most likes about Bill is "he makes me laugh - and you know how important to me that is."

20. To me, "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" will always be |
|
the Clinton's song. Both of them. I can still see them clapping and singing it. I heard it the other day in the drugstore and it gave me goosebumps. Those were the days of excitement and hope. And here we are now. My song for bush is, "Don't stop counting the days until it's over..."

Another song I was thinking of was Bryan Adam's "Ya Gotta Have Faith" sung by Aretha Franklin and MaryK Blige..
Then I recalled, it was part of the soundtrack for RFK's movie, "Bobby"..It's a great song, but might not be...
