If the Dems do not act NOW, they will face their own BLOWBACK
We have an Attorney General who openly announces that he "works for the White House" and tells all the USA's that they , too, work for the White House

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003699882_webmckayforum09m.html

McKay said he began to have concerns about politics entering the Justice Department in early 2005, when Gonzales addressed all of the country's U.S. attorneys in Scottsdale, Ariz., shortly after he took over as attorney general.

"His first speech to us was a 'you work for the White House' speech," McKay recalled. " 'I work for the White House, you work for the White House.' "

I don't give a rats ass about a "no-confidence vote" about Gonzales. He does not understand his basic job description. He has stonewalled and obstructed. He has attempted to pervert the entire Justice Department for political ends given the quote above. Just ask all the USA's under oath if they recall him saying that absolutely outrageous assertion " we all work FOR the White House". That fact alone is enough to fire him on the behalf of the American people.

Now,to my point about our elected Democratic Congressmen and Senators- we know that:

we were not protected against 9/11 even though there were early warnings
we were lied into war
CIA agent identity was revealed for political revenge
malfeasance in Katrina response
Transformation of Justice Department into politicized arm of the White House

And, you Democratic representatives are NOT DOING YOUR JOBS!!! I don't want handwringing, I don't want finger-pointing, I don't want "no-confidence" votes-

I WANT JUSTICE !!!

I want you guys to file Articles of Impeachment and I want you to do it soon or I will absolutely start to believe that you are as big a part of the problem as these criminals. And then you will force me to rethink my support of you in general.

2. And how did I forget TORTURE?!
And habeas corpus. You know, the little things we all took for granted.

The Dems have always had the bum rap about being "weak on security" which I have always rightfully pooh-pooed. But, I AM finding them weak on security when it comes as an internal threat that pisses on our Constitution ( The Bush Administration)

How many time can they say "pretty please , please come talk to us or we might have to issue subpoenas that you will ignore and then we will write you more letters and threaten to issue more subpoenas that you will ignore and then we write more letters and issue more subpoenas that you will ignore . . ."

No more Mr. Nice Guy. Go ahead and issue the suboenas and when they ignore them, go ahead and issue the warrents for contempt of Congress. Go ahead, I dare you. They already have.

3. I can feel blowback in the wind.....I'm hopeful but not at all
confident that the Dems will rise up and start pointing fingers and get rid of, once and for all time, the thugs that have over-taken our democracy.

5. Yes! And they have all but admitted it WAS illegal with their ghoulish bedside visit to Ashcroft
This incident doesn't play well at all.

Why did they ignore the legal "acting Attorney General" (Comey) in favor of the drugged up post-operative one (Ashcroft)? Is that the only condition one COULD be in to sign off on the illegal wiretapping?

Kind of like asking your Alzheimer's Grandpa to give you and your twelve poodles the family inheritance and "no reason for Grandma to know - it might upset her".

Edited on Thu May-17-07 08:17 PM by Cults4Bush
The grandparent analogy is good.. really good. Its a frame worthy of repeating thats for sure.... sned it to some congress critters who might be asking questions soon:) ... and tell others it as well.

Really that is exactly where my thoughts have been formulating and going to but you absolutely nailed it.

6. I Agree!
Jonathan Turley on Countdown last night said that the Senate Judiciary Commitee would lose all credibility if it didn't do something about Gonzales and Bush.

A 'vote of confidence' on Gonzales is pretty meaningless.

What in the world is wrong with the Democratic Party leadership? Don't they read the polls? Don't they listen to their supporters? Don't they care about the future of our democracy? Doesn't demanding accountability and justice for all the Bush crimes matter to the Dem Representatives and Senators?

I really don't get it.

Yes, things are getting so bad and the corruption of the Bushites is so obvious that if the Dems don't do something concrete and meaningful pretty soon ... I agree ... there will be blowback.

20. The question to ask is
What do the Bush people have on some major Dem players. What are those Dems being blackmailed with? It is either that, or there really is only one party.

11. so dont even try to uphold the laws?
Ive read 1000s of times the arguments for no impeachment over the years from hyper triangulative theories to out and out apathy and you know what? They have all without exception been beaten into the blood stained dust of this administration. Give me the arguments of not enough votes in senate, voters will turn on us for witch hunting, not enough evidence and I will have a counter and we will get nowhere...again... so I suggest you take your whipped ass commentary and take it to the moderate fence sitters and you all can sit on there while we rabble rouse the rest of the country from slumber and make them scream for the heads of this mal-administration.

We have the evidence, we'll shove it down the publics throat over and over until they vomit up enough disgust to scare their elected officials into action and when you feel its safe enough to actually try for impeachment please make sure to jump on the band wagon while its at a full and complete stop.

...and just so you know Im not being all seething about over here (really Im not ...its basically a get the fuck out of our way kind of tone Im trying get across here, nothing personal but there is business to attend to), here are few smilie faces and a beer just so that we remember we are ostensibly on the same side.,:) :hi: :toast:

You work on your way to better the world and we will work on it our way and whoever gets there first is buying the rest a round on the house ok?

12. Whine Alert: "Impeachment Won't Happen"
Then the radical Republicans will have no real reason not to steal another presidential election -- because even in the face of despicable abuses and crimes -- 'Impeachment Won't Happen'.

Especially now ... we all better hope it happens.

13. Out of curiosity: Why post that? What do you hope to gain?
Do you secretly WANT for impeachment to stay off the table or are you open about it? Do you wish to sway opinion here? Maybe pull a few fence sitters back from the brink? What do you feel are the bfee's thoughts regarding impeachment. Many of us DUers feel that if bush does NOT want something, this very thing must be bad for bush and therefore is good for our country. Do you feel that bush secretly wants us to support impeachment for some reason, for some nefarious purpose which 90% of us DUers have missed? Just trying to get an understanding here my fellow DUer...no flames and I'll respect an honest discussion, I'll urge my fellow 90% to withhold any flames as well here, flames do nobody any good after all is said and done, communication, now that's the key!

15. frankly, i don't know what the dems or the repubs are thinking.
the repubs worry me only slightly more. they seem to think that the country is going to swing back republican in '08, that there is something to be gained by continuing to side with bush. why would they think that? why are more of them not cooperating with the dems to salvage some modicum of respectablility with the american people?

and why are the dems not going all out? where are the subpoenas, the indictments, the direct appeals to the american people, etc.?

damned if i can figure it out. i just know something smells incredibly fishy at this moment.

16. I assume Rove has been wiretapping every DEM in the house and senate for 6 yrs.
Remember the Wolf outburst that he had stuff on the world bank to bring them down and voila a nice golden bailout. And ABC goes quiet on the sex scandal...Think what you may but I don't believe they have the courage to buck Rove.

19. And This "Wimp Factor Deficit" Will Be Far Worse Than The Usual One
This is because of the specificity and magnitude of the failure/betrayal.

This is the ONE JOB they were elected to do. (No, it wasn't "All About Iraq. Squawk!")

And it is the one thing that can (and likely will) depress support for Dems in general just low enough that a bunch of crooked US Attys and some judge-shopping can steal the 2008 elections.

Oh, and please add strategerizing to the "don't want" (won't work) list.
