Tweety and company with there BS that Obama is losing support
Edited on Fri May-18-07 04:30 PM by bigdarryl
The same old talking points watching this show is like watching Hardball for Hillary Clinton for President. they keep saying Obama is dropping in the polls REALLY!!http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/2008_democratic_presidential_primary
Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election. They are constantly bashing Obama and Edwards on a daily basis.

2. there was a nice article about MIchelle Obama in the NYT today
she sounds pretty cool and down to earth.

What possible real relevance could the polls have at this point, though?

3. It's called influence public opinion via self fulfilling prophecies.....
d the hopes is that it will influence the polls, that then can be used to further influence voters. It's what the media does these days, if you didn't know! They did it in 2003-04 and it was very effective.

They are the reason that the "frontrunner" are who they have been saying the "Frontrunners" were since last year. They decide, and then influence just enough of the majority (those who suck at the media tit for their information) to make the difference. Let's just say that if they want Obama to drop 6 points in the polls by next Tuesday, it will happen. More than enough voters are gullible when it comes to taking their directives from the no-nothing pundits.

I have stated before that the 1996 Telecommunications Act should have never been signed. It has affected the politics of this country in a very disturbing and profound way. Bill Clinton didn't understand it fully, I guess......but it is part of what caused the last few years of his presidency to become marred in scandal; the 24/7 news channels attacked him in a manner that was truly biased. Those same news channels now dictate much of the public discourse.....cause everyone watches TV, while not enough read the newspapers (some who are owned by those same television media moguls), and so it is these cable channels that literally determine the news, and everyone else follows. It is too much power in the wrong hands taking away too much power from the people!

9. I think by February 08, both current front runners will be losing.
Eight and a half months is a VERY LONG TIME for any candidate to keep from stumbling. Some small ones MIGHT be overlooked, and look at what we all thought about a year ago. The front running Pubs were going to be George Alan, Rick Santorum. Remember when everyone in the media AND a large number of regular people were convinced that the Dem. candidate would be Howard Dean.

It's fun to speculate, and argue for your candidate of choice as the time passes, but I think we're all in for a number of surprises.
