Dean/Edwards or Edwards/Dean would be a great balance |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 12:00 PM by Armstead
I doubt it would happen, because of mutual egos and the Kerry freight train.
But I think a ticket with Dean and Edwards would be a great one. A combination of sunshine and righteous indignation. I'm serious. Personally I'd prefer Dean/Edwards but either way would be a good combo.
Dean is Dean. I think that's a good thing. But I think Edwards would balance off the "edge" that makes people nervous about Dean. Edwards has that "positive image" thing going, and is populist in a mainstream way. He's also someone that "centrists" could live with. Plus the fact that Edwards is not a NAFTA free trader and is freinds with Kucinich gives some possibility of bringing in a progressive influence. And he's a southerner.
IMO Kerry is the dark side of the modern Democratic Party and sort of the worst of both worlds. A liberal, but one who has been compromised by too many years on the inside.
Just my thoughts at this stage.

I've supported that for a while now...it just plain MAKES SENSE, doesn't it?

i support Dean, but I could settle for JE/HD (i DO think JE is a phony, but it could be a winning combination)

Dean was grossly off on how many troops are in Iraq and Edwards has flubbed several foreign policy questions. Looks like a repug dream team to me. One of them maybe, both-badddd idea.

Let them frame the debate and choose the questions, that's how we'll win in 04! Capitulation is patriotic.

7. it would never happen because it's such a horrible idea |

Edwards isn't going to pick a vp with even less national security type experience than he has. He needs someone with gravitas, like a Clark or a Graham or a Kerry or a Biden.
Besides, what does Dean do to him other than lose him millions of votes in key states.

that really really blows. Us having a better than 50-50 chance in FL, AR, and LA would have been death to the GOP
