World Bank Staff reviled Wolfowitz as arrogant, self-absorbed and inept
Wolfowitz’s World Bank tenure was uneasy
Staff reviled him as arrogant, self-absorbed and inept

<<snip>>

Yesterday, two years later, Wolfowitz resigned from the World Bank, effective June 30. He has become a virtual pariah, forced out by the bank's executive board for ethics violations and reviled by much of the staff as an arrogant intellectual who cared more about his ideas and image than about the institution or its customers.

<<snip>>

Wolfowitz, they concluded, should never have been in charge of a multinational institution owned by more than 180 governments and with 10,000 employees.

<<snip>>

Another former colleague who served with Wolfowitz in four administrations said that "the kinds of problems he got into were predictable for anybody who really knew Paul." Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the source voiced admiration for his intellect but said Wolfowitz "couldn't run a two-car funeral."

<<snip>>

Far from respecting the bank, member governments and staff charged, Wolfowitz surrounded himself with doctrinaire former White House and Republican officials and gave them wide authority. He altered long-standing policies and imposed new ones without consulting the staff or member governments. He risked the bank's credibility and the future of the poor countries it serves.

<<snip>>

The final proof of Wolfowitz's estrangement from the bank came when he hired a famously aggressive lawyer to fight for his job and warned that if he were fired, the bank's reputation would fall along with his own.

4. Certainly is descriptive of the overwhelming majority of the
bushies, even, now that I think of it, most of the republickers that I have knowledge of; almost a singular qualifying condition.

I'm glad to see the rest of the world sees what we do. I mean, what WE here on DU see. And of course the remainder of Americans who care about caring and honesty.

Bush and a few rich assholes are just an anomaly. Smoke and mirrors and 28%.

5. I think it was last week that board members of the World Bank told ....
.... Paul, "Hey that meeting we have coming up ... do not be there."

That S.O.B. needs to be held accountable for his crimes, lies, and bullshit.

Remember? Iraq was going to pay for it's self or 1 maybe 2 billion tops.

6. it's so interesting that Wolfowitz
was described as "self absorbed".

I wonder what he could be self-absorbed about. He's so ugly. Arrogant? Did he look himself in the mirror lately? Ugh.
And we won't even bring up his toe nails (they've been called bear claws) they are so long, they wore holes in his socks.
Phew man, gettin sick here.

How on earth Shaha Riza could.....
Never mind.
