Bush thinks we're winning a war. Democrats in Congress think that they're ending it. |
|
While Nancy Pelosi keeps impeachment off the table, it's showing up everywhere else.
Impeachment is the only remedy when the executive usurps legislative authority. But this Congress doesn't want to tackle that. No, these legislators are happy as clams, taking bold stabs at wrongdoing around the outer edges of the administration, uncovering political meddling in the Department of Justice, Republican politicking being done on the people's dime, failures at Walter Reed.
In the meantime, they DO NOT have a single investigation of Bush or Cheney about the war, or torture, or signing statements, or violating FISA and the fourth amendment, or anything at all that would lead to their removal from office.
The Democrats just want to see Bush and the Republicans twist in the wind until the '08 elections. The Constitution, American soldiers and the Iraqi nation can be damned in the meantime.
What has to happen before Bush is impeached, perhaps a BJ. in the oval office??

2. Excellent courageous piece of honesty |

The 110th Congress is lame, although I got pummeled as Repub for saying this the other day. If the funding for this illegal war is ended, then our troops must come home. Isn't that what the majority of Americans want? I know most of us do.
And parading Gonzo before the committee to repeat "I don't remember" over and over is useless. Gonzo was the puppet, not the puppeteer. The fix of 2008 is in. It's like Palast has been warning us. Rove and Myers were the puppeteers. They were altering the Justice Dept to steal elections. Our democracy has been stolen and many of our own party legislators are as guilty as the opponents. There is little doubt to me that some of our Democrats are in on the scam, on the Republican payroll. It is maddening.

4. Dems requested interviews and documents from the White House |
|
White House replies with an offer to have Rove and others interviewed privately with no oath and no transcript. The Dems rejected the offer. That was two months ago. There hasn't been any progress since then.

5. In response to the OP's title: And they are both wrong! |
|
Sadly, the OP is quite correct in his/her observations. Even if Bush were caught strangling a young boy in the White House, the "impeachment off the table" Democrats will find some other excuse for doing nothing about it.

6. Pelosi & Co. using Bush investigations to insure a Dem prez win |

<snip> The Democrats just want to see Bush and the Republicans twist in the wind until the '08 elections. The Constitution, American soldiers and the Iraqi nation can be damned in the meantime.
It kinda makes one think the Dems have their own games to play while the US. troop Kia's continue to triple with the Bush surge and the Dems want to wait until they have a Democratic President so they can say, (yaawn..) we can now do something to undo all the damage the Bush administration has caused the United States. This crap is like a bad Hollywood B- movie!
Dollar to a dime the Dems will never get copies of the Karl Rove's emails.
