OMG! I Want Michelle Obama to run!
Edited on Tue May-22-07 07:20 AM by youthere
I have never heard her speak before, and I just listened to Robin Roberts interview her on GMA. All I can say is..WOW! I'm impressed. Incredibly bright, warm, funny and genuine. All I could think was "Now THIS is a first lady!" What a refreshing change she would be compared to what we have now.

2. Well, if the current trends are any indication...
...maybe we'll see her running sometime around 2024.

4. I got to see only the first few minutes, but in that time I could tell
that she is a very clear thinker and knows her shit. She'd make an excellent first lady, although her hub is not my first choice for the nomination.

10. Well..My first choice isn't running (yet?)
So I've been sort of ping-ponging around all the candidates. I gotta'say though...after seeing Michelle Obama', it makes me like her husband more...he had the good sense to marry her (or the good fortune she married him?) She is a very impressive woman...quite lovely too.

5. Here's a cool story on how Michelle's drumming up support in Iowa -
Obama's wife targets Iowa's female voters
Women will account for 60 percent of votes, she says

Michelle Obama, campaigning in the Des Moines area Monday on the heels of a new Iowa Poll showing her husband is ahead of Hillary Clinton, directed much of her effort toward female voters.

"What I've been trying to do on these first visits is to really serve as not just a surrogate messenger but as a surrogate ear," Obama told a crowd of about 60 people inside the Chit-n-Chat Coffee House in Waukee.

The wife of Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, one of the frontrunners for the Democratic presidential nomination, last month helped launched "Women for Obama." In its inaugural fundraising lunch in downtown Chicago, the group raised $750,000 for Obama's campaign.

13. NO she does not
Edited on Tue May-22-07 09:40 AM by Ethelk2044
She is a strong intelligent woman who can hold her own. She does not need a man to tell her what to do she has her own mind. She can make judgment calls along with being intelligent. More women need to set an example like her. Our daughters would be the better for it. They need to be able to support themselves instead of depending on a man to do it for them. They need to be able to take care of their children. This would allow them to have a man in their lives who appreciate and respect them for who they are. Sometimes we have women who are weak. They are not able to stand up for themselves. They tend to be with men WHO abuse them or they are not able to succeed on their own. She is not one of those women. She is able to lead by example. Her daughters will grow up strong and independent. They will be self sufficient. We need more women and girls to be able to be self sufficient.
