Who is most dissatisfied with the current field of candidates: Democrats, Republicans, or DU?
Poll: Parties Differ On 2008 Prospects --
Democrats Satisfied With Choices And Say They'll Win Election; Republicans Are More Pessimistic
If a new survey of registered voters is correct, a Democrat will win the 2008 presidential election, according to new CBS News/New York Times polls.

With more than 19 months to go before the 2008 election, Democratic voters are optimistic about their prospects — they like their candidates and they think their party will win the presidency in 2008. Not so for Republicans. Although there are many announced and yet-to-announce likely candidates for the Republican Party's nomination for president, GOP voters aren't happy: A majority — 57 percent — says they wish there were more choices. A significant number don't think their party will win in 2008.

Historically, Democrats have been skeptical of candidates for their party's nomination. In this cycle, at least for now, most Democratic primary voters are satisfied. Fifty-seven percent say they are satisfied with the candidates running for the Democratic nomination, while 39 percent want more choices. In August 2003, opinion was reversed and during the 1992 primary campaign, Democratic voters also were not satisfied.

I don't know if DU or the Republicans are more dissatisfied with their current field, but I know that Main Street Democrats are loving our candidates!

1. My guess is that most of DU is very satisfied with our candidates.
But the people who are unsatisfied are more likely to post about it. It is human nature to speak up when one is upset about something. When one is satisfied, one does not feel compelled to constantly talk about it.

5. You're probably right. I was hoping that Gore and Kerry and Clark would run, but the ship has sailed
and I am becoming increasingly perplexed by the extended grieving for the absence of one hypothetical additional candidate or another when we have such a great field.

6. also, more DUers are actually thinking about 2008. A lot of rank-and-file
Dems simply don't want to contemplate the primaries this far in advance.

2. I imagine that politically astute or literate people
are less satisfied regardless of their political beliefs.

7. Only because Bush isn't running again
Sorry to be cynical, but that's how I feel right now.

8. Without question, Republicans are most dissatisfied
with their candidates. Democrats in general are satisfied, and I daresay DU is equally satisfied even if we do tussle with each other over them. Although I have a clear favorite, I will happily accept any of the Democratic candidates as my next president.
