AG Gonzalez is a man of integrity and should not resign |
|
per Doug Keneck of Pepperdine University (that bastion of political ignorance) on Diane Rehm Show this morning. I guess conservative dumbasses have a much different definition of integrity then I do. "I can't recall" a thousand times while Mr Comey could recall the minute details of gonzo and handy andy's visit to ashcroft's sickbed. And don't foreget pepperdine wanted ken starr to be its president; starr, another man of integrity.

From the Rockridge Institute of "framing" fame: Now that the Democrats in Congress can hold hearings with sworn testimony, the word "accountability" has finally become a staple of the daily news. But what, exactly, does "accountability" mean?
Accountability is what is called a contested concept, that is, a concept with different meanings for different people, depending on their values. What we have found is that conservatives and progressives mean systematically different things when they use the word. This is not surprising, given the radically different meanings of "freedom" on the left and the right, as discussed in George Lakoff's book, Whose Freedom?
As with all contested concepts, there is a shared core meaning of accountability, and it is linked to the meaning of responsibility: Whoever is responsible is accountable, and can be made to answer for not living up to his or her responsibilities.
That's where the commonality ends. Responsibility itself is contested. To progressives, it means social as well as personal responsibility — responsibility for both oneself and everyone else who could be harmed by one’s failure. To conservatives, it means individual responsibility only. The difference is not surprising, since conservatism is about individual responsibility while progressivism centers on both individual and social responsibility...http://www.rockridgeinstitute.org/research/lakoff/making-accountability-accountable/view?searchterm=responsibilityNGU.

...put this issue to bed. By getting congressional immunity, if she withholds any information or if she lies she goes to jail, correct?

IF such caveats were part of the deal. If they don't ask her about certain information then she can't be held responsible for not giving it. However, there is no doubt she will be totally forthcoming. After all she is a christian conservative. But isn't it strange that prior to her immunity deal she said in so many words, If I tell the truth I'll go to jail. Wow, maybe there is something in the bible that will clear that up in her mind. Those wacky bush backing christian conservatives, they are so persecuted.
