Democratic Congressional Committee just called me for a donation
In 06, I donated quite a bit to the Democrats, every time with the caveat that, if they win, they'll stop the war and control Bush.

It only took me 20 seconds to say, "I told you in 06 you had my support so you would stop Bush and end this war. Now, the Democrats have caved to Bush the Lesser and you want my money? No way. You should be asking the White House for money - that's who you are supporting, after all. Don't call me again until you get a spine."

I can only imagine that they are starting to get a lot of calls like this. I'm very sad about this. The Republics were finally on the defensive, raising less money, fighting off legal charges, etc.

Now that the Democrats have shown they are not really serious about ending the war, I believe the tide will turn again. I'm sad that it has happened so early, but it's the just fruits of the Democrat's inaction.

I've written Reid, Pelosi and my senators and representatives to let them know they've lost my support once they sign their name to fully fund the war. The blood of many Americans and many more Iraqis are now on their hands.

Shame on you, Democrats. Shame on you.

Peace

1. Another reason I'm partyless - no representation.

2. A vote for funding of the Iraq War is a vote for war crimes.
The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for caving in on this. I cannot support any politician who votes for this bill.

3. I agree. I told them the last time they called to try me again when they've
passed a bill to end the war and not before!!!

4. I feel the same way.
Bush refused to fund the war in the budget. Rather he asked for supplemental funding. The dems did not exploit that concept. And then, when he vetoed the budget--that should have been the end of it. But, instead they are so focused on not being labeled by the right-wing as "against the troops," they will give Bush what ever he wants. They could have stood up to him and supported the troops by bringing them home.

I am so angry.

5. Well, I already sent my contribution with the survey I got in the mail
I love Indiana Democrats and I there are several of the Beltway Democrats that I truly despise. They may be a bunch of sonofabitches, but they are our sonofabitches.

If John Ashcroft is made to look like a civil libertarian by people like Gonzo, Democrats with all their faults are made to look like saviours by the GOP scum.

9. I filled out the survey, but for the comments, I put in BIG LETTERS!
something to the effect that the NUMER ONE priority should be to put in place public campaign financing, and that would be the only way they are going to get money from me is when they start pushing on that issue!

I didn't even bother putting my own stamps on the mail (it was self-addressed but I think asked to have us put a stamp on it to help offset costs). I wanted them to pay the dime for the research on how I felt about the state of affairs at this point!
