6. I don't want him to run as a Dem |
|
Screw 'em ~ he needs to start a new party, truly progressive across the board and grassroots powered.

15. Yeah, I did think of his Dad... |
|
But figured he's probably turning over in his grave about now. You may be right about Gore's party loyalty, but I can't see him going up against Hillary. There's already bad blood there ~ could get ugly.

8. I want him to run as a Dem and TAKE OUR PARTY BACK... |
|
Our constitution has given us a two party system.
In the 80's and 90's the religious fundies and corporate elite who are good at using fundies as sock-puppets took over the Republican party and had a huge, horrible impact on the nation.
Now, WE progressives have to take over the Democratic party and the "national conversation."

9. I like the idea of a grassroots party... |

Without the influence of the big DC machine. That inside the beltway group did as much to take Dean down as the Reps and the media.

11. Dems DC machine + corporate media took Dean down... |
|
Thom Hartmann says that Dean was interviewed a few weeks before the corporate media CREATED the "Dean scream" event from nothing -- in the interview he was asked about media and democracy and Dean volunteered that he thought that all news shows should be publicly funded, no more corporate pandering. The interviewer was visibly shocked. Within 2 weeks the Dean campaign was destroyed.

12. It was such a sad thing! |
|
I worked on the campaign and the people were so loud we couldn't hear him no matter how much he yelled. It was disgusting how they replayed it over and over without the noise of the crowds ~ so deceitful and low.
News shows should be publicly funded imo ~ thanks for reminding me of that interview!
