==In Iowa, a new Strategic Vision (R) poll shows John Edwards leading the Democratic presidential race with 29%, followed by Sen. Barack Obama at 24%, Sen. Hillary Clinton at 16% and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson at 9%.

On the Republican side, there is a statistical three way tie, with Mitt Romney at 20%, Rudy Giuliani at 18% and Sen. John McCain at 16%. Fred Thompson is fourth at 10%.==

2. so Hillary isn't doing so well
where people get a chance to see the campaigns and candidates for themselves ? that doesn't look good for her. my guess is they will get Bill to come in and if that doesn't work they will invest heavily in other states and hope the effort there is big enough that results of Iowa don't have influence.

Bill Richardson seems to look like he has the potential to be the dark horse. the one where years later people will use as an example of early polls not meaning much. but i personally don't think he has it to beat the others. i could be wrong as i haven't really paid attention to him much.

i would love to hear from the people in Iowa how they view Hillary's campaign and Hillary herself. i'm seeing a lot of stuff about people attending events and/or meeting other candidates but not much on Hillary.

do you think she might decide to write off Iowa ?

3. Good point
She seems to be declining in Iowa as people get t know her and the other candidates better. Let's face it, she is not exactly the most charismatic politician and how far can a famous last name go? If she falls to 4th in Iowa--which seems entirely possible--I could see her writing it off for NH. She does better in NH but candidates have spent more time in Iowa. As they spend more time in NH she may lose ground there too.
