TPMCafe: McNulty, I'm no Liar
McNulty: I'm No Liar

By Paul Kiel - May 23, 2007, 4:42 PM

During her testimony today, Monica Goodling pointed the finger squarely at Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty, saying that he had not been "fully candid" in his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee about his knowledge of White House involvement in the U.S. attorney firings (McNulty had earlier pointed the finger at Sampson and Goodling for not informing him of the White House's role). Goodling laid out four key areas where she said McNulty hadn't told the whole truth in her written statement (pdf) to the committee. Perhaps the most serious allegation she made was that McNulty had told the commmittee that he didn't have any knowledge of how Tim Griffin, Karl Rove's former aide, had come to be appointed the U.S. attorney for Little Rock. In fact, Goodling said, she'd told him that the White House had been involved in Griffin's appointment all along.

Here's a statement just out from McNulty, via the Department of Justice:

“I testified truthfully at the Feb. 6, 2007, hearing based on what I knew at that time. Ms. Goodling's characterization of my testimony is wrong and not supported by the extensive record of documents and testimony already provided to Congress.”

1. I didn't get his name but
there was a guy (republican) on Tucker and he said that he had known McNulty for a long time. And that he was a very honorable name and what he testified to - he knew it was entirely truthful.

So everybody says Monica is a liar. Are they going to arrest her for perjury...they did to Scooter. She promised to tell the truth for immunity and if she lies she should be prosecuted. Then Paris might have a roommate.

3. That's the thing about the born-again mentality:
They really do believe that they can break any of the commandments. All they then have to do is dial 1-877-JEEBUS, ask for the big guy, ask for forgiveness and they get it! It's part of the package when you are bathed in the blood of the lamb and have a personal relationship with your lord and savior.

And no, I am not making this up. I worked for a Christian Band and this really was what they were taught, they taught and they believed. They were hardly the only ones, too.

Some of the worst vermin I have ever associated myself with, and after 27 years in the music business, that's saying something. I have known me some vermin.

Think: All "morals", no ethics.

4. There's no doubt she would be prosecuted IS they can prove she lied, BUT
I noticed she used the phrase "as I recall" or "I don't know exactly" quite a few times during her testimony. Saying "as I recall" I think takes her words out of the realm of purgery. It's NOT a statement, but a "POSSIBLE" rememberance.

She may be a lot of things, but she's not stupid. She knew exactly how to phrase things to keep her out of jail!

2. Isn't it telling that monica can "remember" exactly what
Mcnulty said or did not say but she just can't recall so much. Put her on faux as a dumb blonde enabler of christian conservative republican values. She has passed the lie test with flying colors.
