KO said it. I second the motion. Democrats need to elect new leadership.

A new speaker of the House and a new majority leader in the senate. Between caving in to Commander Guy on Iraq and caving in to the DLC on the 'secret' Free Trade deal, I personally feel like I have been stabbed in the back by the very people who begged for my support to elect them and put them in power. Now they turn their backs on those who believed in them.

The leadership of my party has shown me that the only thing that's important to them is begging the corporations for money for their reelection campaigns.

Well, to hell with them. I'm going to write to every senator and representative in the party and demand that they replace the traitorous leadership with people who share our Democratic ideals. I will not give up on the party yet, but after the 2000 election without any display of a vertebrate lineage, and the 2004 election with even less evidence of cajones I'm getting real close.

Who will join me in telling our party to stop begging for money and stand up to represent us as they promised to do when we backed them for election?

1. I DEMAND REPRESENTATION NOW!!!
Fuck the multinational corporations! WE ARE THIS NATION!!! We The People!!!

Who among the Dems will stand up and yell "I'm not gonna take it anymore!"

"The Emperor is not only NEKKID, he is a war criminal and traitor to his Nation!"

2. Sounds good

I can go for new leadership, but not for Speaker because I lke the job Nancy is doing so far. The rest they can be due away with. For House leader I would replace Steny Hoyer either with our whip, Dennis Kucinich or even Tim Ryan of Ohio, he's been doing a hecka of job with the 30 something sems group and seeing him on the floor talking about the bill it seems like he could be voting againist this bill, i'm not sure but he looks frustrated about it.

In the Senate toss Reid out because he's no good and either replace him with Durbin, Feingold or Kerry Feingold in my opinion would make a terrific leader if I might say

And Rick Meyers calm down, you gotta relax about this.

5. I know Tim Ryan, he's a generally great guy!
But he has some baggage in his district, including a partnership with the prez of the local Chamber of Commerce, who is corrupt from top to bottom!!! His local office is even in their building.

But, that said, I LIKE Tim Ryan alot!!!

(And you're right, I'm stressed out beyond belief... Mostly family stuff over an estate, etc!!!)

Thanks,

Rick

7. Yeah but rick, no politican or ever person is perfect
But all have some sort of baggage, I mean look who's was Ryan's mentor was, freaking Jim Trafficant the crazy Congressman that's in prison, talk about baggage. But alot of people in Ryan's district don't care about that because if they did he wouldn't of gotten re-elected with over 70 percent of the vote

10. Oh, I know that district all too well...
I know Jimbo as well...

Tim was never mentored by Traficant. And he DOES have very strong support.

I could write a book on that district, in fact, we have discussed a documentary with Jimbo's lawyer several times...

Jim Traficant is a complete psycho. In an ODD way Gulliani reminds me of Jimbo.

Oh yes I have read stuff. From what I heard after he was arrested by the cops in 2002 he was sent to a mental ward where he currently takes up painting. After the GOP took over in 1994 between that and '02 he started to make really weird speeches on the House floor. And He tried to run as a indy from his jail cell in Congress but only got 15 percent

Tim was never mentored huh? could of sworn he was. Maybe I was thinking that because he and Ryan were close since he was his top aid at one point

4. Olbermann: The Democratic nomination is likely to be decided... tomorrow.
The Democratic nomination is likely to be decided... tomorrow.

The talk of practical politics, the buying into of the President’s dishonest construction “fund-the-troops-or-they-will-be-in-jeopardy,” the promise of tougher action in September, is falling not on deaf ears, but rather falling on Americans who already told you what to do, and now perceive your ears as closed to practical politics.

Those who seek the Democratic nomination need to—for their own political futures and, with a thousand times more solemnity and importance, for the individual futures of our troops—denounce this betrayal, vote against it, and, if need be, unseat Majority Leader Reid and Speaker Pelosi if they continue down this path of guilty, fatal acquiescence to the tragically misguided will of a monomaniacal president.

For, ultimately, at this hour, the entire government has failed us.

8. I watched Rahm Emanuel on the Tweety show,
and he bragged that they were going to confront Bush with benchmarks! Benchmarks are simply a fraud. The Decider will decide whether they are being met. The best way to support the troops is to bring them home alive NOW, and we are failing them. Every day more will be killed or maimed. It's a tragedy.

9. Malloy is talking again about the 4 boxes used to defend liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammunition
...in that order.

He is on a tear tonight of rage and sorrow for our country.

We are without competent leaders.

Because he sure didn't have them in 2004. Now, he conviently does since he's not running for President.

17. Reid is a gamesman, and also my Senator
I usually will give him the benefit of the doubt, but I can't see what could be gained from this.

It pains me, but yes, it may be time for new leadership in the Senate.

21. Keith Olbermann
You may know...his show is on MSNBC. Here in New Mexico, he's on at 6 p.m., and again at 10 p.m. His special comment from last night is a keeper! It's posted on You Tube, and someone posted it here at DU.

Are you a night owl or an early riser? (4:30 a.m. here!) :)
