After the shameful vote coming up by Congress - GORE NEEDS TO MAKE ANNOUNCEMENT
He should say, well, I hoped they wouldn't cave, but someone's got to step in and do something!

I'm a big Edwards, Clark, Obama, and Gore supporter, esp Edwards right now, but if Gore would do this - wow, fireworks!

6. On Larry King Live
he avoided the question about whether the Democrats had caved. I was a little surprised as he had a great opportunity to tell it like it is.

13. I wondered about it too
when he said he trusted Reid and Pelosi. Made it sound like it was okay with vote??

7. There's a real hunger for Gore to get in the race, and I don't
think he is being coy. I think he's honestly undecided. He's been through it before, and it's tough. He has had the strength and character to rise above what was done to him in 2000 and to become an internationally respected statesman.

Now he has a good life, and we ask him to give that up for another nasty and dirty political fight. Hard choice. But we need him. We're in trouble, and we need him badly.

12. But he had a pretty well thought out response as to what he would do
about the Iraq war were he in the position to do something about it. Most of the candidates pretty much just opine that it's a mess.

8. What do you think about the fact that Kucinich opposes the benchmarks?
Edited on Thu May-24-07 10:54 AM by pnwmom
Or, at least, the ones related to Iraqi oil?

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/viewstory.asp?Page=/Politics/archive/200705/POL20070524a.html

CNSNews.com) - Anti-war Congressman Dennis Kucinich took to the House floor Wednesday to try to block legislation that would establish benchmarks for progress in the Iraq war, alleging that the measure hides the Bush administration's real motive - to "steal the oil resources of Iraq."

The supplemental military funding bill under consideration contains numerous benchmarks for progress in Iraq, including one for President Bush to report on whether the Iraqi government enacts "a broadly accepted hydro-carbon law that equitably shares oil revenues among all Iraqis."

But the Iraqi Parliament is already considering legislation backed by the Bush administration that would open up the majority of the country's oil fields to international investment and privatization, according to Kucinich.

In an hour-long address to a mostly empty House chamber, Kucinich, a long-shot contender for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, railed against the Iraqi legislation, calling it an "outrageous exploitation of a nation that is in shambles due to the American intervention."

10. hi pnwmom, I wholeheartidly agree with DK
I believe we should pull out immediately, tomorrow start the process of doing what is properly the best way to leave, assisting UN peacekeepers but letting the Iraqi people get the real terrorists out of their county however they 'wish'. We are not wanted, and we add fuel to a fire that we cannot put out. thanks!
