Swarm on Congress!!

May 14th through July 31st, Grassroots America has organized a Summer of Action.
It is time we stop business as usual in Washington, D.C. and demand that legislation be passed that ends this war, brings home all the troops and takes care of them when they return.
We will be a visible peace presence in the halls of congress, meeting with members of congress, attending hearings, conducting protests, sit-ins and media events, all to throw sand in the gears of government until real legislation is passed that ends this war. Plan to come for a few days or a few weeks - - we promise an effective, productive, energizing and fun experience! Learn, work and experience your own power. Before another season passes with more senseless loss of life, freedom and opportunity, come for the Summer of Action. Let it not be said that each of us didn't do everything possible to end this madness.

SWARM ON CONGRESS
Last week we kicked off the Swarm on Congress. We marched from the White House to Congress and took a stand on Independence Ave to demand our representatives listen to the people and end Bush's illegal occupation of Iraq. We announced our arrival with the Mother of a March. We conducted Roaming Occupations, Congressional Visits, and attended hearings to ensure our representatives know we are not going away. If you are coming to DC for an event, whether it is for ending occupations or reclaiming the constitution, stay for the week and join in our actions.
