The Media are the ones to apply pressure to the Bush loyalists in Congress
to help our Democrats win a Veto Proof majority!! And they better do it fast or they can become irrelevant to the American people. All we want from the talking heads is to support the Dems and unmercifully lambaste the obstructionist Republicans and get this show on the road to bring our troops home!

Here is a primary example posted today of the power of the word:

CBS: Bush created 'safe haven' for terrorism with Iraq invasion

5/24/07

Thursday morning CBS News's Early Show criticized President Bush's latest justification for the Iraq War as being the first line of defense against al Qaeda, by citing an upcoming Senate Intelligence Committee report (U.S. Intel Warned Of Iraq Instability) which states that the administration was warned before the invasion that a US presence in Iraq would actually increase terrorist influence.

Analyst Paul Kurtz expanded on this criticism, saying, "Prior to our invasion of Iraq...Iraq was not a fertile ground for terrorist activity," but that now "we have a safe haven in Iraq for terrorists." The administration, says Kurtz, is trying to have it both ways.

When asked directly, "Is the United States winning the war on terror?" Kurtz immediately responded, "without a doubt no" and added that "our continued engagement in Iraq is spawning more terrorist activity."

...the media has got to do it's job and support the People..or just turn them off until they go into the dumper!

1. If you're going to be angry point your anger at people that can help us..
I know, I know...the Liberal media (that doesn't exist!) The media has always been a hammer able to supersede authority..Instead of eating our own, which accomplishes nothing...Lobby the media to do their job and help us get our troops home by them pressuring the Republicans playing a numbers game to the detriment of the country. The media know who's holding up the vote. Make it hotter than hell for Mitch McConnell in Ky and te rest of his ilk and roust them out of their self-serving thinking.

2. strangely enough Rummy admitted this when he called Iraq a "fly paper" strategy
the media's job, according to those who own it, is to be the opiate of the masses. They can ignore everything of significance while going wall-to-wall whenevr a blond woman is in trouble somewhere in the world...

unless the blond woman is Monica Goodling in which case they can ignore that also.

3. The media will give us a few tidbits now and
then to make us think they are coming around to actually doing their jobs. The media control this country and will do whatever it takes for them to make money. The job they do best is giving this administration air time to shuck the corn that is served to us. No. 1 enemy in my estimation is the media.

4. Agreed..
"No. 1 enemy in my estimation is the media."

The media act in a covert sense enabling the Republicans. They need to be called on that specific issue, refreshing their memory of their duty to their viewers. If necessary likening them to the propagandist media of Nazi Germany, shifting the blame for our war dead and wounded directly to them as willing accomplices to Bush's long failed policies. They need to act responsibly to help end this war, if not, Americans need to boycott the cable punditry and shut down their substantial viewership until they agree to help us apply pressure to the Republicans obstructing a Veto Proof 'End the War' Vote .
