What if Kerry is asked, "Have you ever cheated on your wife, Teresa?" |
|
Let's say there's nothing to this story. But what if he is asked bold face if he has ever cheated on his wife. What will his answer be? How will the press handle it? Will it affect the polls?

2. Theres nothing to this story and to continue giving it legs is wrong AND |
|
doing the work of the republican party. I heard Kerry on Imus this morning and you could tell in the tone of his voice it was a made up story typical of the anal retentive republican party. Matt Drudge is the essence of puke and epitomizes the low character of the republican party.

3. Somehow I doubt that question will be asked |
|
From all accounts the Drudge story seems to be a non-story.

They have absolutely no right to ask it, but they will.

he should just say he won't dignify the question and that it's a personal matter. As in, "none of your f'ing business."

it's a non-restrictive appositive--which is set off with a comma.

I would leave it out. Under modern trend it can be left out. Otherwise it can be misread.

10. I would like to know before he gets nominated |
|
I don't see why I can't know this. Or why it's wrong to ask. We were pushing to find out about Bush's cocaine use or alleged abortion, and while we didn't get answers, no one said it was wrong to ask. Once we nominate Kerry, we're stuck with him, so if there is something which could potentially bring him down, I don't see why it's unfair to ask.

16. Why can't you know this? Ye freaking gods! |
|
You know what? Because it's none of your business! Or mine!
But if we decide the sex life of a politician IS our business (which I believe is only allowable if he's being a hypocritical pig about anyone else's), then I think we should INSIST on sex in the Oval Office to ensure the fertility and well-being of the realm. I do. If the candidate can't get it up, he ain't up to the job. I think we should be firm about that.
And if the president requires blow jobs to get the job done, then patriotic Americans should line up and GET the job done.
Because I will always prefer my leader to screw his mistress than the nation.

If this were Bush, and info had been leaked out that he was boffing a 20 year old girl... then DU would be so overloaded, the server would crash. If this were Howard Dean, DU would be equally overloaded. Character counts, folks. It may not count to you, because it's your candidate, but there are plenty of married voters out there that care about infidelity, or even more about an older man in power preying on a young girl. Even the hint of this will hurt a candidate.
Are we so naive that we can't see how many voters will be turned off by this story? He's a candidate, a choice, right now... not the president. There are other candidates that can still be chosen. Do you think that voters will examine the prospect of having another bloodbath that virtually stalled the government, ala the Monica Lewinsky witch hunt? Do you think voters will sign of for more of that if this story is not categorically proven false before the election? Electability... that was a marketing term coined by Kerry's people... it's a total illusion and can burst like a bubble in a matter of minutes.
I thought the whole rant around here was that we need to rally 'round the "electable" one. I'm sorry, Kerry's not looking all that electable at the moment. He's looking like a candidate with weaknesses.. and that's what the people that foresaked their first choice in the primaries, were hoping to avoid.

8. Kerry would never answer that question Yes or No |
|
Whether he did or not, it's not in the nature of politicians to answer questions like that. And how often do you hear Yes or no answers typically anyway?

24. So, you really think he won't be asked this question, ever, ever, ever? |
|
And if he does get asked, he'll tell the truth? And the country will forgive him and vote for him no matter what? And we shouldn't be worried about losing to Bush because our country is so sophisticated it will overlook any of Kerry's failings?

"44 million Americans live without health insurance. 10 million americans can't find jobs. 12 million American children live in poverty. Over 500 soldiers have died in a war we didn't have to fight. And given the chance to ask a question about what I might do about any of that, you choose to ask about my private life. Get your mind out of the gutter and focus on things that might actually affect this country."
Either that, or the condensed version:
"You are a disgrace to your profession. Next question."

8. If you make a highly questionable and inflammatory factual assertion about a candidate, you must provide a link to a reputable source to back up your claim. Rumor-mongering is not allowed. Allegedly "innocent" questions which are actually an underhanded effort to spread rumors are not allowed. If you really need to know the answer to your question, try Google.
