1. But you've got Wes Clark as your avatar!
Would you vote for him if he ran? just asking.

2. Dodd was vocally against the bill and voted no
Edwards came out with a statement against it. Clinton and Obama voted no, although given their lack of statements against it I'm sure it was pure political calculation.

But anyway, there's always Dodd. What's wrong with him?

20. Obama and Clinton
Both made strong statements on their vote Friday after the predictable Repub bashing. I just wish they'd taken the opportunity to make statements in the Senate. Either way, unless the Democrats somehow manage to continue to f-up and accidentally nominate Jeb Bush, I'm voting Democrat in 2008 no matter what. The stakes are too high to do any different.

Two pointers:
It's no accident, comrade, that it's called "Counter Punch" (CP - Communist Party.) Also, stay away from the Larouchies! No matter how tempting they may sound, ideologically!

37. Chuckle! I remember listening to some radio or TV ad many years ago ...
... and I was nodding in agreement to the points being made, with even an occasional, vocal "Yeah!"... until I heard it was sponsored by some Lyndon Larouche group. At which point I was a bit embarrassed, grateful I was home alone, and made a mental note to be wary of people speaking little truths (as they're likely bringing little truth).

5. Gore's the only one I could enthusiastically campaign and vote for.
Edwards would also get my vote but with slightly less enthusiasm.

I sure wish Russ Feingold was in it.

6. Al won't run
I voted for Al before, when he actually won but it was stolen from him.

Here is my hope by the vote in Congress - The quid-pro-quo to reach the deal was private, never to be made public and not to alert or aid "the GOP view of" enemy. They (Dem's) vote for the funds & Bush reduces troops by say 50% in the fall, September keeps coming up everywhere. This might be only in my mind, but it IS my hope - I trust Harry Reid, because he is my Senator.

Lee Iaccoca on Charlie Rose said last night to be independent and endorsed only Mitt Romney or Bill Richardson as experienced & competent. Not sure, but something to consider? Too soon to tell...

13. And that sums it up perfectly
We are taken for granted. Where else are you going to go, who else it there to vote for. Well, I can keep my money, go on vacation, and just not vote. The dem congress insulted us and now dare us; they actually expect us to be a gutless as they. They sold us out and went on vacation...that's the way it is.

12. Ahh, Republicans must love hearing those on the left claim they will not vote for a Democrat.
It's a good thing that those who vote Democratic are not just the fringe left, where I consider myself to be also. This too shall pass as those who rant about jumping ship realize they will land in the water with no life vest. Give it a few months and the tune will change. But this is the Democratic Party where the motto is for many to leave when the going gets tough and to attack and eat your own. It is much easier work to change people's minds. In the end, though, each representative is answerable and responsible to the members of their district or state. Not to every Tom, Dick, and Harriet Democrat across the nation.

I am glad that Senator Feingold realizes he is unelectable and does not feel the need to tilt at windmills. I am happy to have him as my senator, a man who has the courage of his convictions even when is pisses off other Democrats (he does not favor impeachment). In an unusual stance, though, he has said that he would accept the second spot on the ticket and any nominee would be lucky to have him. Here in Wisconsin there are Republicans who vote for Feingold, like they did with Proxmire, because they know they can trust him even if they do not always agree. I do not see the potential for him to lose his Senate seat here in Wisconsin.

15. I still think there is a good chance he will run. Gore is, in the best
sense, a boy scout. And if there has ever been such a time, "now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country."

I believe he doesn't want to run; but I think he'll throw his hat into the ring by November.

If he does, he will be sworn in on January 20th, 2009.

dems that you re-invigorate a dying bunch of GOPers. This country literally cannot survive another Republican president or Congress. And most chilling is the fact that neither can the planet. Please all you naysayers step back and get a realistic perspective.

35. He's the only guy I trust ... period.
Of course, I'll vote for the Dem because if I don't, it helps the GOP ... but Gore is the only one I truly TRUST. I respect him, I believe in him and I think he would be one of the BEST presidents this country has ever had! I hope we all have the chance to cast our votes for him once again. BUT ... if we don't get that opportunity, I will vote for the person he supports.

39. Dems are telling the
anti-war left: drop fucking dead, you have nowhere to go.

This kind of arrogance is what got us intro trouble in the first place. If Dems had listened to the left back in 2000, Nader wouldn't have gotten so many votes and Gore would still be president today.

Instead, we have more arrogance and betrayal from Dems now. I hope a 3rd party candidate runs again, maybe they'll learn their lesson this time. Just maybe.
