2. I hate "vote for the most electable" arguments, but I am personally hopeful
Edited on Sat May-26-07 12:29 PM by Heaven and Earth
that if Edwards is the candidate, it will be a landslide. His economic populism, delivered in that silky-smooth accent, will shore up our Western growth and crack the South open again. We could be talking Jimmy Carter-levels of southern support if the GOP nominates anyone but Fred Thompson. If Giuliani is the nominee, Edwards might have a shot at Utah. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

5. As of now I am undecided. I want a Democrat in the White House above all.
It would be of no comfort to me if my own personal pure and perfect candidate got the nomination and was unelectable. The truth is that in this country there probably is a person who would be the most perfect and best president we may ever have known except that this person may be completely unknown and not a politician and also totally unelectable.

7. I'm not sure I
ever voted for a candidate in the primaries that ended up being the nominee. I haven't picked a candidate for '08 yet but I doubt my luck will change.

10. I wonder how many people dont vote for the candidate they want
based on their belief that their candidate is 'unelectable'. Maybe if nobody voted based on electability the definition of electability would change? For me... labeling someone as unelectable is a self fulfilling prophesy of sorts. And inasmuch... its kinda sad. Of course, people are entitled to vote for whomever, whyever they want. But it would be interesting to know nonetheless.

For example... I read all the time that Kucinich is unelectable. But I submit that if the Unions, the Tokers & those opposed to the Patriot Act banded together and voted for him... Dennis could pull it off.
