Kerry & Clark - A Dream Team
I just heard on the radio news (WJNO Stream) that at the endorsement of Kerry by Clark that Senator Kerry said he expected Clark to be at his side all the way to the Convention and the election. Is that an indication of an ubeatable dream team? There could simply be no way the Republicans could hold onto their bread and butter National Defense stance as the only ones who know how to defend and protect.

1. No. Kerry/Clark ticket is stupid. They both have the same strengths.
You need a moderate from the South...somebody who is pissed at George W. Bush...maybe perhaps....Max Cleland?

30. Ignoring the value of a Kerry/Clark ticket would be stupid
Clark gives him SOoooooooooo much on the ticket. A great NATIONAL grassroots organization that is lacking in the Kerry camp, southern creds, a double war hero ticket against AWOL, charisma and snap, plus some salt of the earth to balance out the ivory towers.

16. I'm totally with you on Kerry/Cleland...
...MC puts GA in play and appeals to males 40-60 y/o throughout the South and Mid-West...at least according to some Pol Sci pros I've heard lately. This is a year to pay attention to stuff like that.

2. I heard that, too.

I would sure be less unhappy at Kerry heading the ticket if Clark were the #2. Dean/Clark was my dream ticket to start with.

Pennies from heaven, oh, my.

Of course, I was one of those who wanted Clark on top, but I'll take what I can get.

So I'll follow his advice and vote for Kerry. I agree--what a team. What Kerry lacks in southern charm Clark more than makes up for!

28. Didn't Cleland lose his own state in the last election?
Yes. I know for a fact that he did. So, how do you imagine that he can deliver GA in November? We'd all love to hear your explanation for this.

26. But someone who can say....
... I voted for Nixon, and voted for Reagan; and now see the error of their policies. Reframing the issue as the failure of Reagan's policies and the whole piddle-down economics bee-ess.

Clark would definitely help pull Independents and crossover-Republicans.

21. On that very idea
Though the position "SecDef" "appears" lower, i would much rather have Mr. Clark serve the honour of SecDef and be charged with a full transformation of the american military and intelligence services. This would promote him to his highest level of competence in the administration. I think the veep, based on the current tone, should be "edwards". Dean should get a role also, but i don't know his position of competence as a cabinet post.

25. Clark can't to SecDef, I believe
I've heard that one has to have been out of the military for 10 years before being eligible for Secretary of Defense. I think it has to do with the "civilian control/admin of the military" thing.

Other good positions for Clark would be:
- VP
- Secretary of State (though Richard Holbrooke is more likely)
- National Security Advisor (excellent spot, allowing Clark
to be involved in multiple areas; he'd be a DAMN sight better
than the sycophant Rice)

18. I think...
.... Clark, a Southerner who has ran a classy campaign and who clearly thinks on his feet would make a great VP. I have no idea if he is interested or if Kerry is, but it would make me a lot happier to vote Kerry come November, that's for sure :)

Clark on the ticket or with a stated position in the Cabinet would make a November Kerry vote more palatable for me, too.

20. Clark spoke first and stepped behind Kerry...
Kerry said something like, 'General, where are you? Get up here (in a nice way)...' Clark stepped beside Kerry who said, 'General Wes Clark will never be behind me again in this campaign but will always stand at my side (paraphrasing).'

Whether or not Wes Clark is the VP nominee, it is empowering to our side for Kerry & Clark to beat the VietNam Vet drum. I had no idea there were 8+ million VietNam Vets. This overshadows Rove's 4 million non-voting fundies.

22. There's some kind of bond between these two that goes beyond
endorsement politicking. I think they've talked and agreed to run together. I'm not getting my hopes too high, cause I'll support Kerry regardless, but it sure feels like they're a team.

23. Kerry /Clark works for me
Clark brings the south, he brings foreign policy and brings endorsements from diplomats appointed by both Dem and Repuke administration and he brings credibility from around the world, not to mention diplomacy skills and determination to make a change in DC

34. Yeah,
I just felt that Clark pulled out kind of abruptly. (I know some wouldn't see it that way.) I expected him to wait through March 2--as he'd said repeatedly.

There have been several comments out there that are leading me to think that Kerry-Clark might be it. Surprisingly, I'm ok with it and even hoping for it. This has been quite a week.

35. I don't like it.
I don't think they are tough enough on corporations shipping jobs overseas and for fair trade.

I'll vote for them if they are running together in November, just to get rid of Bush. But Kerry won't get my vote in my primary. He doesn't need it.

I'm in the minority here, for sure, but I'm not into Kerry or Clark. I liked Clark OK before he endorsed Kerry.
