55-page document reveals campaign to expose Wal-Mart labor practices having impact - 05/31/2007

Lede: More evidence from Wal-Mart’s internal documents indicate the campaign to expose the company’s harmful business practices is having a real impact. Doug Cunningham has more.

By Doug Cunningham

According to a 55-page report from its former ad agency Wal-Mart is in big trouble over its public image.
WakeUpWalMart.com says the report says Wal-Mart’s bad reputation is the number one business problem facing the giant retailer. As more people learn of Wal-Mart’s business practices, its flood of Chinese imports that cost U.S. jobs, it’s treatment of its workers, and the cost of public health care for Wal-Mart employees consumer ratings for Wal-Mart as a company trusted and respected are steadily headed down. WakeUpWalMart.com says only by working with its labor critics to improve its business and labor practices can Wal-Mart improve its public image. The internal report says Wal-Mart is not perceived as a smart place to shop.

2. i told my mom that i would sit in the car while she went in to
shop but that i won't set foot in there until they shape up. i quit eating domino's pizza 17 years ago because the owner donated to the pro-life movement, so you know i mean it. :toast: however, i did finally let up on mickey d's (5 years ago?) for their backing of tricky dick.
