Here's my proposal for what Dems should've done with the Iraq War Funding
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 11:22 AM by Hippo_Tron
Bush gets his supplemental appropriations bill without a timetable and without restrictions.

The one condition is that Bush must appear before a Joint Session of Congress for 45 minutes every week and answer any questions that members of congress ask him regarding the Iraq War. This is basically the equivalent of Prime Minister's questions in the UK, except that the topic of the questions is limited to Iraq.

Now can you imagine Bush having to field questions from congress that he doesn't have access to in advance? After one session he would probably beg the Democrats to let him have a timetable in exchange for never having to do that again.

Oh yea and to make sure that Bush shows up for questioning they could fund the war in weekly or bi-weekly installments.

1. You can ask bush** all the questions you want every day, twice
on Sunday.

You'll never get the truth or a straight answer.

3. Maybe, but if he lies he'll be doing it on television
And since he can't think on his feet, he'll spend 2 minutes trying to think of a lie and it will be obvious.

They should repeal the IWR. I've been saying that for months.

Hold on. . .I'll fetch the link.

5. That's why they fund it in weekly or bi-weekly installments
Plus the media hasn't paid any attention to his signing statements thus far. If he does one this obvious, they will have to.

8. If you really want to nail him, make him appear before the British Parliament
If he did it here, Pelosi would take all the tough questions "off the table".

13. they'll greet him as their liberator
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 11:48 AM by welshTerrier2
the school children will all sing songs to him and bring him flowers ... mothers and fathers will weep openly because he brought them democracy.

finally, they are free ...

maybe he could speak from the same platform they used to hang Saddam ... maybe they could even have the rope they used with a nicely formed noose ... maybe, well, you get the idea ...

9. here's my one condition:
add a provision to any Iraq funding that mandates that no non-Iraqi private or public entity can realize a penny of revenue from Iraqi oil.
