RNC fires phone solicitors

The Republican National Committee, hit by a grass-roots donors' rebellion over President Bush's immigration policy, has fired all 65 of its telephone solicitors, Ralph Z. Hallow will report Friday in The Washington Times.
Faced with an estimated 40 percent fall-off in small-donor contributions and aging phone-bank equipment that the RNC said would cost too much to update, Anne Hathaway, the committee's chief of staff, summoned the solicitations staff last week and told them they were out of work, effective immediately, the fired staffers told The Times.

-snip-

"Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

The RNC spokeswoman denied that the committee has seen any drop-off in contributions.
"Any assertion that overall donations have gone down is patently false," Miss Schmitt said. "We continue to out raise our Democrat counterpart by a substantive amount (nearly double)."

3. So, let me get this straight. 65 people are newly unemployed...
Ostensibly because the phone-bank equipment they were using is out of date and because donations are way down, and those donations have fallen off because the Republican leadership isn't anti-immigrant enough to suit the base?
:wow: Yet they still claim to be outstripping us in getting donations? Amazing.

Now, will those 65 "lost" jobs go into the RW spin machine and come out as "jobs lost to illegal immigration"? One wonders.

I notice they still had to drop the "-ic" in "our Democrat counterpart." Losers.

5. They are outstripping us in donations. Their corporate cronies still love them.
And that's where they get 95% of their money. The pittance they get from their small donors like Freepers is the only thing they aren't getting now.

4. Maybe they let them all go because they believe they already have a lock on 2008.
Scary thought, but aren't these the same people who stole at least the last two national elections?

Don't turn your backs on them, and don't feel too cocky over this. These people are SNAKES.
