We still have an outed CIA agent, a brave woman who went to other countries to further our interests and literally spy on other countries, without benefit of official cover. This is a dangerous game undertaken by few people.
The person or persons who saw to her cover being blown remain free to do it again, essentially thumbing their noses at the laws of this country. Libby goes because he got caught lying. That's it. Lying. Not the treasonous act of outing a covert agent. Karl Rove, the wispy haired limp dough ball of a man, the one who, there can be little doubt, engineered this whole game for no better reason than political gain, continues to walk free.
Tenacious prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, called partisan and out of control by Libby's defenders, is neither. Instead, it may be reasonable to call him ineffective at least, and perhaps cowardly at worst, for going no further than Libby. Yes, that last is hyperbolic ..... maybe.
We have treasonous bastards walking free, a good agent concerned with counterproliferation sidelined, and a middleman going to jail for lying.
Why am I feeling shitty today about Scooter going to jail?
Because Scooter is the only one going to jail.
And by the way, is it not also true that being in the highest levels of the US government and continuing to sport the name 'Scooter' is, in itself, a felony? If not, it should be.
