The Scooter Libby in our family |
|
About 30 years ago a cousin of my Mother's was caught doing some magic tricks with the bank books where he worked. He was tried, convicted (I think the charge was embezzlement) and went to jail. He was a family man, had cute little kids, an upstanding member of the community, a great guy. While our sympathies were with him and his family there was no effort to obstruct justice on our part. Too bad we didn't have karl rove around at the time to orchestrate a campaign of sympathy for our scooter; to activate conservative values if you will.

Did he go on to get a job and redeem himself to family and friends? I'm hoping so.

Almost lost his wife but she sucked it up and went to work. The family was very supportive. He did about three years and was on probation for some time and has kept his nose clean ever since. He's an old Grandpa now. The bank whacked him pretty good, but I can't blame them.
