Embarrassed Democrats
Do you notice the embarrassment in the top tier Democrats in this video?

Let's hope they wake up. They can end this war; they have the power but will they use it.

2. The Repigs had no problem not allowing bills. Why can't the Democratic just not pass any more
funding for the illegal occupation of Iraq?

4. Aren't you paying attention?? We need a veto-proof majority to not pass bills!
Also, only 82% of the population is against giving * a blank check...clearly a fringe position.

:sarcasm: (of course)

11. We need a veto-proof majority to pass bills./ We can stop any bill we want.

When I say "WE" I mean of course our elected Democratic representatives.
You know the folks selling our interests out in DC to the highest bidder.

12. Actually, Gravel has an answer to that also.
He has written and recommended to Congress the US Armed Forces Withdrawal From Iraq Act. And he says the way to get it passed over a veto is to keep bringing it up for a vote every day - it only would take a few minutes to do this. Each day the vote would continue to expose those who keep pushing for war to the people. The pressure on those senators and congressmen/women voting for war would be tremendous to stop! This would wear them down to a veto proof majority, and it probably would not take very long.

5. I've been asking for five years
what are the guiding principles of the Democratic Party?

Clearly, truth, morality and peace are not.

6. Thanks...terrific clip!
It's hard to watch it and not think that such a boneheaded decision should disqualify them. The truth is, they were either too stupid to get it or too political to care.

14. This is the first clip I've seen of Gravel
after hearing so much about him on the DU, I thought he was going to be batshit crazy. He's far from it, and frankly, a hellova speaker.

16. Yep, I'd vote for him and Kucinich as a team.
For those who didn't read the text at the link:

"In 1971, I waged a successful one-man filibuster for five months that forced the Nixon administration to cut a deal, effectively ending the draft in the United States. I am, perhaps, best known for my release of the Pentagon Papers, the secret official study that revealed the lies and manipulations of successive U.S. administrations that misled the country into the Vietnam War."

19. I agree. A "yes" vote for the IWR=disqualified for President.
The present Dem "in crowd" needs to be replaced.
