Patraeus: What is happening in Anbar province is "breathtaking".
In an exclusive interview this morning on CNN, General Patraeus said that what is happening in Anbar province is "breathtaking". The people are starting to fight Al Queda!

(Is there any doubt that the Bush administration's report in September is going to suggest that ending the war will be a big mistake. Periodically, the spin is heading in that direction.) :banghead:

Ever-present strategy: Run out the clock...run out the clock...run out the clock....

1. September is when the new Super Embassy opens in Baghdad
Coincidence? There are no coincidences. Come September, we'll have to stay in Baghdad because the picture will look so rosy. Bet on it. This is all just about getting that embassy online. An embassy is a sovereign...once we're there, we're there. Bush knows it. That's been the plan all along.

3. Exactly......Do you think we will ever see
pictures of the embassy? Wouldn't you think that if wonderful things are ongoing in Baghdad we could just get a glimpse? I love hearing * et. al bitch that the media never shows us anything good going on in Iraq. Isn't there someone in the government that can take pictures? After all, the cost to build the embassy would have made a down payment on the future of health care or education or????? whatever.

Actually, this embassy isn't an embassy at all...it's the new U.S. Ministry of Oil with embassy priveleges....imho.

6. Would a general normally use the word "breathtaking"?
It sounds like something Karen Hughes would say.

4. "Ever-present strategy: Run out the clock...run out the clock...run out the clock...."
Of course, and at this point it only helps Republicans. They can alienate Dems from their base and make more bucks.
