Richardson seeks total Iraq withdrawal

WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential hopeful Bill
Richardson said Sunday he wanted a total withdrawal of
U.S. forces in Iraq and that American troops are targets
in a civil war.

"I would leave no troops in Iraq whatsoever," Richardson
said. "The difference between me and the other candidates
is, they would leave troops there indefinitely, and I
would not."

Richardson says U.S. troops should be redeployed by the
end of the year to Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf.
Other Democratic presidential candidates also advocate
troop withdrawals but leave room for residual forces.

The Bush administration envisions a decades-long U.S.
presence in Iraq.

1. THAT is what I want to hear from democratic party candidates!

Kucinich and now Richardson. These are the people who get it-- ANY U.S. presence in Iraq serves the interests of the neocons, just as well as the current full occupation. As long as the U.S. military staffs those permanent bases and as long as the imperialist garrison mega-embassy is staffed, the neocons will be achieving their objectives of middle eastern hegemony.

9. Richardson --until now always managed to sound like

a moderate Republican so much that he was a
Regular on Fox.. Until he decided to jump into
Presidential Race. This is why I find it difficult
to warm up to him.

We have to realize that there are going to be issues other than the Iraq War that we need to face. Once troops come home, what kind of country will they be coming home to?
