Do we have a foolishness gap with the GOP?

I've brought up this topic before, and it'll probably sink again, but here goes...

I contend that the Dems don't have enough foolish, impossible, pie-in-the-sky ideas to peddle to the gullible American public. The GOP seriously outstrips us there.

Think about it. What do we have that can match the GOP on any of the following?

• National Missile Defense
  
• Border Fences
  
• Middle East Nation Building
  
• Privatized Social Security (oxymoron?)
  
• Abstinence-Only Sex Ed
  
• A George W. Bush Presidency

We Dems have a serious problem on our hands. We don't have enough ideas that fail to pass the giggle test. The GOP has them all. The GOP is able to conjure up a happy world where ridiculous ideas just work -- don't ask how. Then they gull people into believing in that world. Once the people are locked in the room, the curtain falls away from the bars and the fleecing machines are rolled out.

So my question. Are there any crazy, stupid ideas that the Dems could come up with to try to counterbalance the GOP? Would the people buy something like free daily Swedish massages by real Swedes? Or maybe porterhouse steak trees? Something with personal hovercraft? Maybe a diet plan?
