Nurses Call to Join Moore´s March

New York, June 8 (Prensa Latina) The California Nurses Association called on the US people to join filmmaker Michael Moore and local health workers in a march to the State Senate in Sacramento on June 12.

The call, posted on the Oscar winner's webpage, says the demonstration will be staged in support of efforts made by Sen. Sheila Kuehl, fighting for application of California s health regulations.

According to the "California Health Care Act SB 849," the system "must be a guarantor for the program;" therefore, medicine should have a social, non-profitable character.

California leads the fight for health reform, said Kuehl as quoted on the webpage.

On Monday Kuehl, who chairs the local Senate Health Committee, is scheduled to meet with Moore, the nurses, and actors in "Sicko," Moore's documentary about deficiencies in the US healthcare system, which ranks 37th in the world.

1. I wish I could be there and I wish I could march
but 20 years of being uninsurable have taken their toll.

2. got to be home that day, wish I could go
Hubby has dialysis, and needs someone to be here when he gets home. Also, need to conserve gas so I don't go broke.
