Cowardly Lieberman is a danger to our country
Jun-11-2007 04:15
Lieberman's Demands for War in Iran are Cowardly
Op-Ed by: Tim King Salem-News.com
Lieberman wants to send our beleaguered military forces into yet another conflict.
http://www.salem-news.com/articles/june112007/lieberman_oped_61007.php

<<snip>>

It seems this Independent Senator from Connecticut is often confused about his mission, but his role as the first leading US politician to call out publicly for Americans to bomb Iran over its alleged actions in Iraq is the work of a man whose jaded politics and desires leave little to talk about.

He is a danger to our country. If his rantings were to come to fruition and he edges his nation into yet another conflict, he will not be the one to do this dirty work, it will be your sons and mine.

Lieberman says if Iran won't play by the rules, "we've got to use our force. And to me that would include taking military action to stop them from doing what they're doing."

"This could be achieved mostly with air attacks." Lieberman said.

<<snip>>

It seems like once again the false intelligence and rumor mill are churning out little senators that are just full of information.

<<snip>>

But Joe Lieberman wants to send these beleaguered military forces, our American brothers and sisters, into yet another conflict and it is time for people to start figuring out ways to send chickenhawk politicians like Lieberman running from Washington D.C. with their tails between their legs.

4. His career should have been over...
When the his party ousted him during the 2006 primaries for Ned Lamont, who the democratic base of CT believed would help the dems right the wrongs that Lieberman has wrought over his last term. But Lieberman lied to to his constituents in order to pander to their needs, so he could get elected again. And it worked...he pulled the wool over the eyes of the morons who haven't been paying attention and just voted for the guy who used to get it done. Ridiculous. The man is a nutjob of Bush-ian proportions, and he's become dangerous.

6. Are other senators a danger too?
I just wonder why Lieberman is called out when numerous other senators have been just as militant or more so?

13. So is Hillary
"U.S. policy must be clear and unequivocal: We cannot, we should not, we must not permit Iran to build or acquire nuclear weapons," Clinton told the audience. "In dealing with this threat ... no option can be taken off the table."

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=2843932

And Obama

"U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama suggested Friday that the United States one day might have to launch surgical missile strikes into Iran and Pakistan to keep extremists from getting control of nuclear bombs."

17. You cannot compare Obama and Clinton to Lieberman.
They are responding to questions about nuclear proliferation, which is an issue that affects every president. Stopping Iran from becoming the next nuclear superpower with their finger on the button, is completely different from attacking them because they may or may not be helping to kill American soldiers in Iraq.

The voices of insanity that are trumpeting the war call against Iran reflect simply as the furthering of the warmongering that this administration and its supporters have become famous for.

11. Maybe because...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19155822

Mr Lieberman is believed to be the first leading US politician to call publicly for Iran to be bombed over its actions in Iraq. But his views reflect growing anger and frustration in the administration and military.

8. Why is he so gung-ho?
Would he like his son (a Yale Law student) to go and fight in Iraq and Iran?

I don't understand what his ideological motives are for continuing and expanding these wrongheaded wars.

15. He is. All this Axis-of-Evil like talk is responsible for the mess we're in
right now. The more we threaten, the more resolve our so-called enemies will have to arm themselves against our threats.
