Hundreds of DC's Young Progressives Set to 'Make Some NOIse!;' June 12 Happy- Hour Event to Benefit New Organizing Institute (NOI)

WASHINGTON, June 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- More than 500 of
Washington's young, progressive professionals are expected Tuesday to
attend the first, public fund-raising event for the New Organizing
Institute (NOI). The non-profit organization runs the only campaign
training program in the country focusing on cutting-edge political
technology and Internet organizing.

The June 12 "Make Some NOIse!" Happy Hour will be held at the
Washington DC club, MCCXXIII, from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. MCCXXIII is located at
1223 Connecticut Avenue, NW.

"There is a whole new national wave of political professionals on the
left who are moving up," said Rosalyn Lemieux, the NOI's executive
director. "They are joining forces with one another, and seeking to support
important efforts, such as the New Organizing Institute, that help move the
progressive agenda forward."

The NOI is a grassroots program that trains new, technology-enabled
political organizers to work for progressive campaigns and organizations.
The Institute is being created by experienced online organizers in
conjunction with MoveOn.org to fill what Lemieux calls "an urgent need in
progressive politics."

The event's organizers say that 100 percent of the proceeds will go
directly to finance NOI's Summer Campaign Boot Camp, a week-long intensive
campaign training for organizers bound for 2007-2008 campaigns.

"This is going to be a very fun event," Lemieux said. "We expect an
evening filled with great people, dancing, and the sounds and visuals of
DC- based producers, Reehee & Shred."
