This is in no way a slam against any one of them. In fact, there's not one of them for whom I wouldn't vote, and probably none of them for whom I wouldn't work, come the serious part of the 08 season.

But right now ...... I just can't get excited about any one of them.

Am I alone?

PS: the Republic candidates? Ha. There's not one of them worth even a kind word from me. The best of them is awful .... and flat-out dangerous to our country.

1. You aren't the only one...
The vast majority of liberals that I speak to are just blah about the candidates.

The funny thing is that when Clinton is mentioned, every one of them shrugs their shoulders and seems either very unimpressed or saddened by the seeming inevitability of her candidacy. I don't understand what is going on with Clinton. I have yet to meet a single liberal in my area who is excited about her. No one. Yet she is the front runner. What gives? It is quite frustrating and frightening. If we get a candidate that even our base is tepid or uninspired by, then you can forget about getting a great turnout in the General election.

One interesting side note is that every one I talk with, while unexcited by the slate of current candidates is very hopeful that Gore will jump in.

2. No. You are NOT alone. Each day I become LESS excited about......
ANY of Democratic candidates with the possible exception of Dennis J. Kucinich (D - OH), the ONLY REAL DEMOCRAT. All rethugs are the rat poison of our nation.

5. The two who excite me - Clark and Gore - are not in the race.
Sigh. Looks like it will be another year of voting in the primary for the best of the least, whoever that is. I'm truly undecided at this point.

Wes Clark has been talking openly about the fact that he is thinking about jumping in.

Not only that - he will bring out a book on September 4th called "A Time To Lead".

Al Gore has repeatedly refused to rule out the possibility of running again.

He is certainly getting lots of attention ("The Assault on Reason", Live Earth).

11. Ditto...Gore is still my man. I think my apathy is mostly due to the
amount of time until the end of Bush's assault on this Nation.

Its too early for the adrenalin to start flowing..and what I hope for our Dems in the House, to at least hold their own, best they can, until Waxman & pals compile a large enough datat base of criminal charges to hang every one of Bush & Rove's cohorts some bright and sunny day.

12. You know what could get me excited about 08?
Any candidate who says that (s)he pledges to investigate and prosecute the crimes committed by this administration, even after they've left office.
