Bill Richardson and John Edwards in Dead Heat for Third in New Hampshire Poll
The University of New Hampshire conducted a poll of 309 Democratic primary voters statewide for CNN/WMUR from June 6-10 this year. Hillary Clinton extends her lead over Barack Obama 36-22. John Edwards, Al Gore, and Bill Richardson were in a three-way dead heat 12-12-10 respectively.

John Edwards is polling the lowest he ever has in the state. USAElectionPolls.com suggests his drop in the polls was a direct consequence of his petty bickering at the Democratic debate on June 3.

Primary voters are very tentative to vote for the candidate that they see as playing politics within the party. They want a unified party. John Edwards should know that from his second place finish in Iowa in 2004 after voters rejected Howard Dean and Dick Gephardt for attacking each other.

"Bill Richardson is running a very positive campaign and voters are starting to support Bill Richardson in lieu of John Edwards" says USAElectionPolls.com.

Could be why Clinton played the "can't we all get along" card, which apparently worked.

1. I've been wondering about something
Whether his anti-war Memorial Day strategy backfired at all contributing to this fall from grace.

I also think Richardson's ads are a real winner.

4. I don't think his Memorial Day strategy backfired so much as fizzled compared to expectations.
I am interested in the 2nd Q fundraising numbers to see where Richardson comes up.

Edwards has been making a run of grabbing small donations and beefing up his donor numbers but if Richardson is within farting distance, Edwards could see some negative horse race stories.

6. I'm Shocked Edwards Appears to be Falling
To tell you the truth, I've thought all along he had the best shot at the nomination and in the general.

Richardson is certainly competent, but his low-key approach usually doesn't work well for a second-tier candidate.
