Hillary could do herself a whole lot of good if...
she went on one of the Hillary basher's shows, like Chris Matthews, and wiped the floor with him, kinda like Bill did to Chris Wallace. Maybe it's too early for that, but He needs it now.

1. She is certainly smart enough to do just that...
I'm not a Hill fan, but I'd love to see this. I'll vote for her if she gets the party nomination.

14. That's all they have...
If she were perfect, they'd find a flaw. I'm with you... not in the primary, but I'll vote for her if she's gets the party nod.

She's pretty damn smart. I think she needs to stick to what her convictions are, not with what she thinks the public wants. We're all pretty much sick of that game.

16. why won't people vote for her even if they think she's smart. Isn't "smart" what we want?

21. Cult of personality...
Apparently they want someone they can sit and have a beer with, someone who is not intellectually superior, someone who is nice to look at and listen to... I never "got" that myself. I always wanted someone who was way smarter than I am, who speaks from the heart.

23. Yes, I always wanted the person who could solve problems and lead. The personality thing
I never got with a president. When I want to talk, or have a cup of coffee I pick a friend. Even now people say Obama can connect with people. Connect? Who cares? Can he lead the world on solving global warming? I'm waiting.

5. That would be great television
especially with Matthews' twisted obsession with the Cilntons. Matthews is also often incorrect about Hillary's stances on some issues. So I'd like to see her set the record straight - and take him down.

11. Tucker Was Like An Adolescent
if it is the episode of Crossfire I am thinking of, Tucker Carlson came across like a silly adolescent boy when the object of his crush walked by him.

After "Living History" came out, Tucker said it would never sell a million copies and if it did, he would eat his shoe. Well, sure enough, Hillary's book had awesome sales. So, she comes on the show with a cake baked in the shape of a shoe. She told Tucker it was a "right wing tip." Well, good ol' Tucker was practically fawning over her. And Hillary was just as gracious as could be, but teasing him just a bit. I seem to recall him BLUSHING.

Me thinks he DOES have a bit of a crush on her.

And, if she can do that to her cabinet officials and foreign leaders, she would make a formidable leader, indeed. I wonder if many people who vilify Hillary end up actually liking her when they meet her in person.

Coming from some one who is most definitely NOT a Hillary fan, but does disliker her and certainly does not believe in underestimating her.

15. I think that's a great idea.
I think all the Dems should crawl right into the faces of the tee-vee punditry and commentators.

I want to hear some real conversations about real issues, not pablum nor rehearsed answers.

Like this:

* stolen from Uncle Joe :)

"As if to drive the point home about the superficiality of today's media, Gore recently appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America," where he was interviewed by Diane Sawyer.

She repeatedly harped on whether the book was a campaign salvo. Gore, who says he is not a candidate for '08 at present and will unlikely be one, chided her on her focus on politics rather than substance.

But even after being admonished, Sawyer, like a drunk with a shot glass, couldn't let it go and asked Gore if he lost any weight, since that might signal entry into the presidential race.

"Listen to your questions," Gore rejoined sharply, "the horse race, the cosmetic parts of this."

Touche. No one should care about Gore's body weight. Rather, our nation's future rests on the weight of his ideas and whether they can penetrate an anesthetized public."

19. I saw Hillary interviewed by Matthews earlier this year
Not on Hardball. It was a prime time event with Matthews in studio and Hillary speaking to him from the site when it was over. Perhaps the State of the Union speech, but that's just a guess.

Hillary was phenomenal. She was smiling and relaxed, trading wisecracks. Matthews was beaming and I was wondering if it would cause him to soften his stance on Hillary. Hardly. He was back to the same scattergun mode within days, ripping the Clintons.

25. The more exposure she gets, the more people will like her
I think she has done a great job so far in the debates and in interviews. She is comfortable, funny and she is very concise and intelligent. The far right will never vote for her, but women and independents will.
