How about a campaign song written for a presidential campaign?
Edited on Wed Jun-13-07 06:47 AM by zulchzulu
I wrote one where I was thinking about the message of hope from Obama as well as a commentary about how we need hope to keep alive in these times. There have been campaigns in the past where presidential candidates had songs written just for them (Eisenhower, JFK come to mind)...

Here's one Obama might like:

Keep Your Hope Alive
by Rex Alpha*

Listen to MP3/3:10

Looking out for what's ahead, you've got to get to the right mindset
keep strong the will to survive, you've got to keep your hope alive

do it all with finesse, you're ready for what's in the distance
kick it out to overdrive, you've got to keep your hope alive

You're up there on the front line, streaking through the pipeline
you're not going to make it nosedive, you've got to keep your hope alive

Your mind controls your destiny look out for the opportunities
Keep that positive drive, you've got to keep your hope alive

You've got to keep your hope alive
You've got to keep your hope alive
You've got to keep your hope alive
alive

* Ollie North referred to something called "Rex Alpha" as the secret government that Raygun would give power to back when he was lying during the Iran-Contra scandal. It is also a "band" where I write, produce and record the instruments/songs/video.

Any others out there trying to do this?

7. Hey, you don't need to know how to sing!
With voice software now, you can just "sing" and it corrects the tone...

9. I have an advance song from Sam Brownback's campaign
From the Freedom Toast, to the tune of "Locomotion"

The Evolution (Locomotion) Sam Brownback

Schools in the United States have got it wrong, now
(Come one baby, don’t teach evolution)
I can still correct it if they sing my song, now
(Come on, baby, don’t teach evolution)
The Bible says the world was made in just six days
And science isn’t real, it’s just a passing phase
So come on, come on, don’t teach evolution to me!
You gotta bite your tongue, now. Come on baby.
Turn back your clocks. Fossils are just some odd-shaped rocks!

Now that you believe it, come join the cult now,
(Come on, baby, don’t teach evolution)
Tell your children’s teacher there’s a new result, now
(Come on, baby, don’t teach evolution)
What Darwin found is causing me a lot of grief
Religion’s free as long as it is MY belief!
So come on, come on, don’t teach evolution to me!
You gotta bite your tongue, now. Come on baby.
Turn back your clocks. Fossils are just some odd-shaped rocks!

I believe I have been called to lead the nation
(Come on, baby, don’t teach evolution)
I think I read it in the Book of Revelation
(Come on, baby, don’t teach evolution)
It may look like McCain or Rudy has the lead
But my religion’s pure, and that is what you need!
So come on, come on, don’t teach evolution to me!

Yes, come on, come on, don’t teach evolution to me!

10. Just in case somebody gets the wrong idea:
Sam Brownback most definitely did NOT endorse that message!
