"Republicans have locked up the pundit vote"
Gene Lyons is right on the mark with this column.

And is there anything more disgusting than Chris Matthews drooling over (first) George W. Bush's "manliness" or (now) Rudy Giuliani's "daddyness"?

The PROBLEM is that, even though Chris Matthews does not attract a wide audience outside the Beltway, he is VERY influential and creative in molding the opinions of the opinion-makers INSIDE the Beltway -- and that is dangerous.

Let's start with Rudy's supposed "smarts" ... the guy was married for FOURTEEN years to his second cousin (they had grown up together) BEFORE Rudy realized he was married to his cousin, which is not allowed in the Catholic church.

How the heck "smart" is that?

Since leaving his job as NYC mayor, Rudy has owned a security firm, BUT he lost his campaign playbook -- the playbook that gives away all of his own campaign's worries about Rudy's PROBLEMS with the public.

How the heck "smart" is that?

Rudy never prevented a terrorist attack; he merely picked up a microphone AFTER the attack on 9/11 and did what any common sense mayor of a major city would have done.

One thing for certain, Rudy has NO anti-terrorism credentials and NO foreign affairs experience OR knowledge.

P.S. As for Rudy being a "daddy" figure, his own kids are not speaking to him, and his daughter dislikes him so much that she does not even use the Giuliani name (she has taken her mother's last name), because Rudy was so CRUEL and insulting to his wife and kids AFTER he met the then-twice married Judith in a high-priced NYC pick-up bar.

Rudy is on his THIRD wife ... his wife is on her THIRD husband ... Rudy's kids don't want to have anything to do with him.

Watta "daddy"!

Yup, that's "family values," Republican style.

Oh, and Rudy did not reduce street crime in NYC, it was his then-police chief, Bill Bratton, who devised the plan that reduced street crime -- that plan is still the NYC plan for reducing street crime.

When Rudy was NYC mayor, he loved immigrants (NYC is is a city of immigrants)... now that he is running for president as a Republican, Rudy doesn't like immigrants, along with the rest of his Republican friends.

Yeah, there's a guy you can trust (sneer).

1. Hey, Rudy's pro family planning! If we have to get strapped with a pug, RUDY: best of the worst.

4. No, if forced - I'd "write in" Dennis Kucinich.

3. He also insisted emergency center be in WTC against all advice
after WTC had already been attacked. How smart is that?
