Is there some ONE thing the media says about your candidate that you can't STAND?? I have an idea... |

This may be a "wild hair" idea -- if so, just tell me.
There's something often repeated about General Clark that is factually untrue (I hear it's coming up soon on the Tucker rerun) and it makes me NUTS everytime I hear it. I've written letters about it, but of course it continues.
There were similar "facts" of "common wisdom" that were flat LIES about Al Gore. To this day, if somebody says he claimed he "invented the internet," I go nuts.
Same with John Kerry "insulting the troops" along with the entire SwiftLiars mythology.
I think these things need to be countered as quickly as possible and in the greatest numbers possible. I DO think writing to media, writing LTTEs, calling in to talk shows, leaving comments on blogs etc. helps. So here's my idea.
SOMEbody is going to be our nominee. What if we cooperated and exchanged peeves, agreeing to write on behalf of other candidates on some issue? It would have to be something factually untrue, or perhaps a meaningless characterization (Edwards' hair, for example, or trivializing DK).
Maybe we could post alerts on the Media forum, and respond whenever The Pet Peeve arises, in greater numbers. You tell me when someone says The Thing That Makes You Nuts and I'll write them; I'll tell you when The Thing That Makes ME Nuts is said, and you write them....
