Wealthy blacks back Obama's campaign
he analysis focused on ZIP codes where blacks earned more than the black national median household income of $31,000 a year and made up at least 13% of households, on par with their population in the USA.

Obama received about 70% of the donations that went to the two candidates from these areas. For example, in four ZIP codes of Bowie, Md. — the wealthy, racially diverse suburb where Johnson lives — Obama collected 26 contributions and Clinton received six.

Victoria Archable, a Cincinnati business owner, is among those who have sided with Obama. She said he is a "fresh face" who "wants to do good for the entire country."

Archable, who gave $500, said her support is not entirely based on race. Obama "doesn't run away from the fact that he's black," she said, "but he's more than that. He's not just the African-American candidate."

Obama also attracts first-time black givers, including musician Branford Marsalis, who gave $4,600, the maximum amount a donor can contribute. Marsalis said he was drawn to Obama because he "is an incredibly smart man who has gotten where he has because of his mind and determination."

1. that means they believe in something
This is good news all around - It means #1 that somebody other than white men are getting rich and #2 that Obama is a reason to put your money where your support is, not necessarily in that order.
