Obama Campaign attack memos...
Which will probably be greeted with huzzahs by some here...however constitutes a clear break in Obama's pledge to run a different kind of campaign...

And I guess Obama doesn't want support from the Indian-American community....

Memo 1 entitled

"HILLARY CLINTON (D-PUNJAB)'s
"PERSONAL FINANCIAL AND POLITICAL TIES TO INDIA"

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/politics/memo1.pdf

Memo 2 here

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/politics/memo2.pdf

Backstory here:

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/06/15/the-backstory-on-obama-clinton-attack-memos/

These documents – with their bold type and grabby headlines, including one that referred to Mrs. Clinton as (D-Punjab) – are text-book examples of old-school opposition research practices. Second, the documents include what could be construed as attacks on Mr. Clinton, who is probably the most popular person among Democrats these days.

Mr. Obama’s press secretary, Bill Burton, defended the documents, noting that they were simply a compilation of public quotations and information available to anyone with access to the Internet. “I don’t know why anybody would take umbrage with us putting out publicly available information.”

Mr. Burton would not comment when asked why, if that were the case, the campaign would not simply distribute the information under its name.

3. This is a serious concern
This may be Obama's very own Macaca, if he doesn't do damage control quickly.

8. Not really.
Its a rumor that a few people on the internet will use for their sniping attacks. The average voter will never hear about it and won't care if they do. Its stupid.

7. Nope...
To both questions...

I won't let up...

And no, I have no connection to the Clinton campaign other than as a supporter who wants her to win next year...

5. Yeah I like him fine...
Actually I like him quite a bit. But the fact is, attacks on Hillary's character are an ongoing and prominent feature of the blogosphere...much of it emanating from Obama supporters, who claim their guy is above this kind of thing...but obviously he is not.

13. Hillary thinking 10 jobs in Buffalo is worth outsourcing thousands of jobs to India
is what bothers me more than an Obama staffer mocking her ability to become a Senator in Punjab.

This sets up the expectation for a principled loser. Then he might as well be running a Nader style campaign in toto as a symbol. He is a serious party contender using the tools and situation he is faced with. So he is offered two swords to fall on, not an issue that he is two-faced. He can become a full organization money machine player or a new kind of Nader or Kucinich. In politics you have to play many sides and it is the honest general direction that counts and Obama seems to intend to change things- unless he gets so stung by the "idealism" trap that he really and totally gives up the idealism in order to win.

We used to have non-millionaire "dirty" pols who stayed in office on the low road by doing favors and service(the job) for their constituents. Ugly, non-idealistic, sellouts to the richer, but acceptable- in their "hypocrisy" to their voters. Now we have this holier than thou comedy while the black hats run rampant on the other side with no benefit to any poor voter. We need to get in touch with the reality we would reform and keep kicking the candidates in the rear to get rid of the ugly stuff as possible, especially once elected. What a circus of values we have in this the only choice that will get close to a democratic election by the people. If we get a holy perfect man he will be martyred by a grateful establishment or more likely slandered- as ALL have been no matter how perfect- Jesus included. We just have to have confidence in the one who we believe means change.

In this present system you can either cut the Dems some slack or maybe write in Nader. This should mount pressure for the system to change not simply and easily alienate candidates from the progressive base. It deserves to be criticized, but we also have war for humankind to fight. We are not out to win another noble cross. That is already guaranteed without knights on white horses parading into artillery fire.

15. "Punjab" reference came from a joke Hillary made herself at a fundraiser hosted by an Indian doctor
Of course, this detail is not included in the New York Times article.

The Punjab reference came from a joke Clinton made herself at a fundraiser hosted by an Indian doctor when she said "I can certainly run for the Senate seat in Punjab and win easily, after being introduced by Singh as the Senator not only from New York but also Punjab."

Most of the document accuses the Clintons' of investing in Indian companies that outsource jobs to India. One article said Clinton helped outsourcing pioneer Tata Consulting and then quotes her as saying the company "actually brought jobs to Buffalo. Outsourcing does work both ways." Another point said Clinton accepted $60,000 in contributions from employees of Cisco Systems, which laid off American workers to hire Indian "techies." All of the points in the oppo doc quote news stories.

16. She also touts the fact that 10 whole jobs were created
In An Interview With Lou Dobbs, Senator Clinton Defended Her Support Of Tata Consulting, A
Company That Brought Ten Jobs To Native Buffalo Residents But Destroyed Thousands Of Jobs Over
The Years. Lou Dobbs asked Clinton, “Senator, a number of people pointed out to us, e-mailing us and calling
us, saying, ask the senator about her helping Tata Consulting, a well-known outsourcer, open jobs -- and office
in Buffalo, New York. I’m asking you, did you really understand the degree to which they were involved in
outsourcing jobs when you were there?” Clinton replied, “Well, of course I know that they outsource jobs, that
they’ve actually brought jobs to Buffalo. They’ve created 10 jobs in Buffalo and have told me and the Buffalo
community that they intend to be a source of new jobs in the area, because, you know, outsourcing does work
both ways.”

Job well done! ....can't stop laughing, sorry..... I know what the intent is of the OP...but I can't help but smirk at Bill's stewardship of Yucaipa.. Bravo! Soon Yucaipa will be bigger than the outmoded influence based methods of Carlyle.

It's hard for me to go there, where, your links are Obama's memos of intended sordid/nefarious activity of the Clintons.. Makes me wonder how sheltered Obama has been and if he's ever been allowed to think for himself.
