1. Is it normal for a sponsor of a bill *not* voting?
What a hypocrite.

I'd guess he's off campaigning for Pres or something; (edit to add) and didn't think it would pass, so figured his time was better spent doing whatever he was doiong today. The News article said it had failed in seven prior tries.

7. While that looks about right, Oregons Dems were interesting.
The two DLC split as did the two progressives. The DLC and Progressive from the more rural southern parts voted yes. The Portland area DLC and Progressive voted no.

Thank you for the link. Nothing will change until the DLC is sapped of $$$. And that will never happen.

8. The U.S. cannot support all of humanity. We should

look after our citizens first and enforce our laws, including immigration laws. Why should any country favor illegal aliens over its citizens, native or naturalized?

9. Do you know what that bill includes?
I think depriving others of needed care is a crime. Instead whole cities could be punished.

I don't know how the GOP succeeded so well, but they did.

11. They succeeded so well because

they have citizens behind them and those citizens are speaking up. Good for those 50 Democrats.
