2008 electoral prediction from Dave Atlas' site

Now I'm not sure the statistical methodology behind it, but anything that's predicting 298 electoral votes for the Democrat sounds damn good to me...

1. I think I bitched about that in 2004, why oh why would you switch the colors

just to fuck with people? It's pretty confusing and disconcerting. Dems are BLUE, CONS are RED, how freaking hard is that to program??

2. That's a pretty new development

it wasn't always thus. Prior to 2000, the non-incumbent party was typically red, the incumbent blue.

Then the terms "blue state" and "red state" came into common usage, and they've stuck with Dems=blue.

The red/blue terms for strictly Republican/Democrat seems recent.
