Thompson asks state for $360,000 in legal fees, expenses

~snip~ Georgia Thompson's lawyers filed the request with the state Claims Board, arguing taxpayers should reimburse her because she was charged in connection with her state employment. ~snip~

The vice president of a public employees' union, former GOP administration secretary Mark Bugher, and several lawyers not involved in the case also submitted statements backing the claim that was filed Thursday.

Doyle also supports her request, said spokesman Matt Canter.

"True justice would be for the U.S. Department of Justice to pay her costs and not the state," he said. "But she's an innocent woman who has been so horribly wronged by these events and she shouldn't be caught up in it any more." ~snip~

1. good, they should give her her legal fees

even though they probably don't have to. the Feds won't. but she was charged with a crime while doing her official duties, as she said, and the case was thrown out, which means she did her job the way she was supposed to. so pay her legal fees already.
