Change is Off the Table: on the notion of running out the clock
Edited on Sat Jun-16-07 04:54 PM by leftofthedial
it is apparent that both parties have a vested interest in running out the clock on all important issues. The status quo, possibly with some escalation to the death, destruction and totalitarianism, will continue unchecked until after the 2008 "elections."

Nothing of consequence will happen until the "democrats" win a two-thirds majority in both houses, the "presidency" and change the makeup of the SCOTUS. Without all three of those conditions being met, even after 2008, the "democrats" will be preserving the status quo fulltime, keeping their powder dry so they won't look bad by proposing anything that isn't a sure win for them.

Therefore, I modestly propose that we shut down the GDP forum until then. All we will have to talk about anyway is one candidate's operatives attacking their rival candidates for the next year and a half.

Let's all just go over to the Lounge and talk about music, TV, movies, cats, gardening, kids, sports, freepers or books until then.

Whaddya say?
